Aubeterre, listed as one of France's 100 most beautiful villages and boasting Europe’s largest monolithic church has a buzzing village square, with restaurants, bars and shops and a stunning river beach with kayaking centre. St Severin has a cafe, bars and many useful shops and the market towns of Riberac and Chalais are only 15 minutes drive away. Around 1 Kilometre from La Ferriere there is an English run 9 hole golf course, set in peaceful countryside with its own bar/ restaurant and tennis courts. 20 minutes away you will find a collection of swimming lakes, surrounded by cycle routes, adventure play areas and woodland walks.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. The gites will be ready from 4pm on arrival and vacated by 10am on the day of departure.

Orangers is a very pretty gite. Large kitchen /dining room leading out through French doors to a terrace and BBQ area. The kitchen is fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. Large separate lounge features a wood burner, large leather sofa and double sofa bed. There is English TV and a DVD. Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 is an adjoining room from bedroom 1 and has a set of bunk beds. Bedroom 3 has single bed. Upstairs, modern shower room. Large private garden, sharing a large pool with Turquoises. |

Turquoises has a new, modern shower room on the first floor. Very large private garden and shares a pool with Orangers. |

This large house is fantastic for 2 families or a large group of friends. It has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is a huge living/dining area and kitchen on the ground floor. The kitchen is fully fitted with a dishwasher, washing machine and microwave. There are 2 sets of French doors leading out onto a private terrace and the pool - shared with the owners. Go up 2 steps to a triple room - 1 double bed and a single bed and adjoining this room is a double bedroom with an en-suite. Both bedrooms have french doors to access outside. On the first floor is a double bedroom, twin bedroom and a 5 bedded room - 1 double and up to 4 single beds. These three bedrooms share a bathroom on the first floor. |

Notes on accommodation
All gardens are secure for children and all pools are fitted with a safety fence. Pets may be considered. All gites are non smoking.
Outside
Each property has its own private garden with tables and chairs, sunbeds and BBQ's. Les Pins Parasols has its own private pool and the other three properties share pools.
Coast/Beach
20 minutes away you will find a collection of stunning swimming lakes, surrounded by cycle routes, adventure play areas and woodland walks.
There is a beautiful river beach 5 mins drive from La Ferriere with a cafe and playground.
Golf
I kilometre from La Ferriere is an English run 9 hole golf course, set in peaceful countryside with its own bar/ restaurant and tennis courts.

Airports and approx driving time from La Ferriere: Bergerac 1 hour. Bordeaux 1 hour 35 mins. Angouleme 40 mins. La Ferriere is a 7 hour drive from the port of Calais.

To secure a booking we require a 25% deposit which is non-refundable. The balance to be paid 10 weeks before the arrival date.

About the owner
Hi - Bob, Geraldine and kids are a young(ish) family who decided to up roots to beautiful SW France and enjoy something of the quiet life! We have four fantastic children, Eddie (10), Twins William and Erin (8) and our little surprise Charlie (7)! All of whom love meeting new friends at La Ferriere. Not forgetting our super friendly Cocker Spaniel, Daisy who stole most of the limelight in 2010! We are an outgoing family and enjoy good company and a tipple or two (not the kids!).

Why the owner chose a home in this location
After many weeks of holidays and scouring the SW of France we felt that Aubeterre (and the surrounding area) was the perfect place for us as a family and to operate a successful Gite business.
We feel that we are perfectly placed for guests to enjoy all of the attractions of the local area (Aubeterre, Lac Jemaye, Riberac and it's Market) and further afield (Bordeaux, Brantome, Perigeux and the Dordogne valley), whilst maintaining a level of tranquility during the peak summer months that all guests will love!
We love family bike rides and the Dronne river is reached in around 3 minutes with Aubeterre beach in about 20 minutes (obviously a lot less in the car if you prefer!). Both of which are perfect for picnics and general exploring or lazing!
Unique benefits of the property
We have lots of facilities at La Ferriere to keep both adults and children happy and entertained. If you are feeling energetic, you can have a few sets of tennis on the fabulous tennis court followed by a dip in the pool.
We have a great gamesroom with table tennis, pool table, table football and a darts board. We have Sky TV and a Wii to entertain you on the grey days or the too hot days!! Other facilities at La Ferriere include: Large children's play area, with "Spring Free" Trampolne, Swings and Slides, Sand Pit and Playhouse (with an Upstairs!). Proximity to Aubeterre (great Restaurants and Bar) 10-15 minutes to large E Leclerc in Riberac.
