Changeover day
The normal changeover day is Saturday with departure before 10am and arrival as from 2pm; I am in resort in order to hand over keys etc

Accessibility
No lifts need to be taken within the building on arrival day and also when going out.
Skiing
The resort of Les Arcs offers great skiing for beginners up to advanced skiers; Arc 1800 is built around the slopes for easy access; when leaving the flat you can put on your skis 50m away thus avoiding long walks with your equipment; the childrens learning area is also very close. Should you wish to visit La Plagne, you can ski there by purchasing a days extension for the Vanoise express. As Arc 1800, 1600 and Peisey Nancroix are in the tree line they offer sheltered conditions in bad weather unlike many other high altitude resorts.
Travel
The nearest airports are Chambery (150km), Lyon, Grenoble and Geneva (all about 200 -250kms). Regular bus services are available to Bourg St Maurice. If self drive you must add 65€ to your holiday price for car parking in resort. Should you come by train the funicular railway from Bourg St Maurice takes you directly up to Arc 1600 then there is a free shuttle bus to 1800 (30 mins. in total)
Distances
The nearest town of Bourg St Maurice is 12kms. Ski resorts such as Val d'Isere, Tignes and the 3 valleys are about a 1 hour drive.
Further details
If coming by car remember to bring (in winter) snow chains (it's a good idea to practice putting these on in advance!), gloves and a torchlight! Be careful if using gps guidance instead of a map as certain mountain passes and roads are closed in winter. You should enter your destination passing by Bourg Saint Maurice.
Booking notes
I require a £100 deposit cheque when reserving, this deposit cheque is given back at the end of your stay. The total rent is due in euros on arrival day.

I have been living in the resort since 1981 so can give you lots of information and advice on the ski-ing. On arrival in the resort, I meet you in order to show you to the flat which avoids losing time looking for the building!
