This two bedroom, 45sq.m apartment is situated on the exclusive Cote Brune. It provides an entrance area, large lounge/dining area, new fitted kitchen,appliances and flooring (summer 2011), bathroom, separate wc and a large balcony overlooking the complex gardens which provides unobstructed alpine views. The apartment is on the fifth floor of six in a quiet residential area providing direct access to the slopes. There is a secure ski locker in the cellar area for safe storage of all your equipment. There is also secure bicycle stotage within the apartment complex. The complex has ample parking facilities even at peak times, (gated parking is availble for a small refundable deposit please ask).

Notes on prices
Rents to be paid in sterling.
A non refundable deposit of £150 secures your booking (£300 for peak weeks)
Balances to be paid 8 weeks prior to travel.
Tourist Tax of £4 per person per week is additional to rental charge, payable with the balance (compulsory).
There is a laundry charge of €15 per person per week (compulsory) and a fully refundable (provided none is caused) damage/cleaning deposit of £250 payable via bank transfer and refunded on return.
Changeover day
Bookings normally run Saturday to Saturday (this is flexible). Apartment is to be vacated no later than 10am. Arrivals after 4pm. Please note arrivals prior to this time can be negotiated but cleaning cannot be guaranteed.

Notes on accommodation
Unlike most ski apartments, this accommodation has a window providing natural light to all rooms. A television/DVD player is available, which provides English terrestrial channels (BBC, ITV, etc) as well as a CD player. Heating is provided in each room by individual electric heaters. Lighting is provided by ecological light bulbs. Please note this is strictly a 'no smoking' apartment. (Smoking will result in loss of security deposit). Smoking is permitted on the balcony. Pets are not allowed.
Accessibility
The apartment is on the fifth floor of six and is accessed by lift or stairs, there are about ten steps from the car park up into the entrance vestibule which, unfortunately, is not ideal for wheelchair users.
Outside
The apartment overlooks the large garden area which is great for building snowmen and the occasional snowball contest! The balcony area has a patio set and is ideal for drinks and nibbles weather permitting. There is ample car parking immeadiately outside the apartment block front door. (Private parking is available for a small refundable deposit please ask).
Golf
A demanding 9 hole course is available in Summer season in the resort which is a 5 minute walk away.
Skiing
The accommodation is in the heart of Les Deux Alpes, France. It is a quiet location which provides access to the nursery slopes, ski school and the main Jandri express lift. These facilities are quite literally two minutes walk away. The free resort bus/shuttle stop is 30m from the main door which provides further hassle free access to all the resort lifts. Shops, bars and restaurants are all within walking distance. This apartment is a must for those who hate the long walks to the lifts or for those, like us, with a young family. The nearby Cote Brune Hotel provides secure ski storage for a small charge if you want to shorten the walk even further. The hotel also has fabulous 'apres ski' under the largest umbrella in resort. The ski resort of Alpe D'Huez is a 25 minute drive away and Serre Chevalier about 1 hour by car. Buses do operate to these resorts. A six day lift pass gives free skiing in these resorts and unlimited access to the swimming pool and ice rink in Les Deux Alpes.
Travel
Geneva airport, Switzerland approx 200km 2hrs 15mins by car. Chambery airport, France approx 120km 1hr 40 mins by car. Grenoble airport, France approx 100km 1hr 30 mins by car. Lyon airport, France approx 150km 2hrs 15mins by car. There are bus services from all airports to Grenoble and a regular service bus from Grenoble to resort. A local company runs a direct bus service from Grenoble, Lyon, Chambery airports to resort. Calais sea port/euro tunnel is approx 8 hrs by car.
Distances
The ski resort of Alpe D'Huez is accessible about 20km, 25mins by car. Serre Chevalier is about 50km, 1 hour by car. Both these resorts can be accessed by local bus which is very cheap and well worth the trip. A 6 day lift pass also covers these resorts at no extra cost.
Further details
There are as many shops, bars and restaurants as the discerning holidaymaker needs. For those self catering there is a large supermarket 'Marche U' about 10 minutes walk which is open everyday till late. This supermarket is well stocked and caters for all needs and is not expensive. Also close by are three smaller supermarkets. There are several banks with 24hr cash points. There is a large, heated, outdoor swimming pool and ice-rink. (These are free to skiers with lift passes of two days or more!).

About the owner
I am a married man with two young children, I live and work in England. We spend all our holidays in Les Deux Alpes usually three times each year, twice skiing and once in the Summer.
I am a keen skier and have skied in France since 1989, my wife got the bug in 1994, our daughter has been skiing since she was 3 years old and our son has yet to master walking!

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Les Deux Alpes is a fantastic resort which offers extensive skiing and snowboarding for all abilities. The off piste opportunities are limitless and easily accessible.
It is a 'snow sure' resort due to the massive ski-able glacier and even boasts Summer skiing, my daughter has lessons in August!
The town is compact and friendly the bars and restaurants offer value for money and good quality food and drink. There is a large supermarket in the town which is well stocked and not overpriced.
The resort is about 1 hr 40 mins from Chambery and Grenoble airports and about 2 hrs 15 mins drive from Geneva and Lyon airports.
Unique benefits of the property
By far the biggest benefit of our property is its close proximity to the slopes and the main lifts, forget those horrendous walks in ski boots and those pesky rides on the bus before you've even considered attaching skis. We are quite literally 50m from the nursery slopes and a two minute walk to the Jandri Express, ski schools and local creche.
With a young family need I say more.
The apartment also boasts a window in every room (except the loo!). Not the usual dark claustrophobic bedrooms that can be associated with ski apartments.
