Chalet Etoile is a magnificent, brand new chalet built and furnished to the highest standards. It is ideally located in the village of Chinaillon which is the starting point for most of the ski runs in Le Grand Bornand. The chalet has a large open plan ground floor with underfloor heating. The sitting room has 3 comfy sofas and an open fire, this leads onto a beautiful well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar and table that seats up to 14 people. A TV room/5th bedroom has a king size sofa bed, surround sound TV and an en-suite bathroom. An integral garage is the ideal place to store, skis, boots, jackets etc. Upstairs are 4 large bedrooms, 2 with king size beds and 2 designed to sleep up to 4 people in each.

| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 - king size bed and en-suite bathroom. Bedroom 2 - king size bed. Bedroom 3 - double bed and 2 singles that can zip together to make a super king. Bedroom 4 - 2 double 'cabin' beds set under eaves and 2 single beds that zip together. |
| Bathrooms: | On 1st floor, there is an en-suite to bedroom 1 with a bath/shower and wc. There is also a shower room and seperate wc. On ground floor there is an en-suite bathroom to the TV/5th bedroom with bath/shower and wc. There is also a seperate wc. |
| Kitchen: | Cooker with large oven and 4 rings, large fridge, separate freezer, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine, wine cooler, 2 fondue sets and 2 raclettes. |
| Utility Room: | Washing machine and tumble dryer. |
| Living Rooms: | The living room is huge! It has underfloor heating, 3 comfy sofas and a large wood burning fire. There is a surround sound TV system, with iPod docking station, CD and DVD player. |
| Other: | The TV room/5th bedroom is a versatile room that can either be used as an extra family room or as a bedroom. It has an extremely comfortable king size sofa bed in it, a surround sound TV, CD and DVD player, as well as an en-suite bathroom. |

Notes on accommodation
The chalet is our home and not just a rental property, and we furnished it accordingly. We have spent too many weeks in houses with uncomfortable beds, badly equiped kitchens, no curtains etc. Chalet Etoile has been designed and furnished with space and comfort in mind. We have three children and have spent time ensuring that it is well equiped for two families, who want to holiday together but not be on top of each other! We have a TV/family room which gives either children or adults a space away from the main sitting room, or can be used as an extra bedroom. We have table tennis in the cellar - which at the moment is a concrete shell housing the utility room, storage space, a room large enough to play a variation of indoor tennis/squash in, (nicknamed Centre Court by our builders) and a table tennis room.
Outside
There is ample parking space for approximately 3 cars, and the drive is cleared of snow on a regular basis (we recommend having snow chains if there is a lot of snow). There is a large patio and a balcony off two of the bedrooms.
We have a large predominantly flat garden, but at the end it slopes steeply down to the river, so anyone with young children should take particular care when they are playing outside.
Coast/Beach
Lake Annecy with its picturesque town and beautiful lakeside beaches is just 30 minutes drive from Le Grand Bornand.
Skiing
Chalet Etoile is located in the village of Chinaillon which is the main ski station of Le Grand Bornand. Situated at 1300 meters, it is close to where the majority of the ski lifts start from. There are 31 lifts and approximately 90km of ski runs. The skiing is ideal for beginners and intermediate skiers while still offering lots to entertain the advanced skier including one of the most notorious black runs in France, extensive off piste skiing and a world class snow park. The nearest lift is approximately 10 minutes walk away, 2 minutes by car or alternatively the local ski bus stops at the top of our drive and takes just a couple of minutes. Le Grand Bornand is a lovely French resort that does not have the same extortionate pricing as many of the bigger name resorts, and the locals are still extremely friendly - making it an ideal location for families. There is a good creche for children, and several ski schools to choose from as well as a good selection of mountain restaurents.
Travel
Travel to Le Grand Bornand is very easy, it is less than an hours drive from Geneva Airport and is an easy (approximately 8 hours) drive from Calais.
Distances
Chalet Etoile is situated in the village of Chinaillon. The shops and restaurants in the village are approximately 10 minutes walk away. The slightly larger village of Le Grand Bornand is a couple of minutes by car or ski bus.
