St Yves has its own delightful and relaxing restaurant down by the old mill with its tranquil lake and water-wheel, perfect for relaxing and unwinding at the end of a day or after a long drive. For a wider choice of shops, restaurants, petrol station and supermarket, there is the charming village of Bubry (10 min).
Further details
Le Crann is situated in the commune of Quistinic, host to the 16th century village of Poul Fetan, immaculately restored to show life at that time. If you want to step further back in time, outside the village of Melrand (15 minutes away) is the Village de l’an mil, a 1000 year old reconstructed medieval village. Close by there are many historic towns and castles to visit including Hennebont, Auray, Pontivy, Vannes and Josselin. Morbihan is renowned for its megalithic stones with so many special places to visit; Carnac with its 3000 standing stones a must see, but also those at Locmariquer, Petit Mont or even catch a boat to the island of Gavrinis. And if that’s not enough, the region has plenty of museums, zoos and parks. Art lovers can follow the 'Art in the Chapel' exhibitions throughout the summer for a tour of the Blavet River chapels. The commune of Quistinic and the Blavet Valley is a walkers and cyclists paradise and the owner has details of many published routes with walking routes leading directly from Le Crann. For a lazy day, take a cruise down the River Blavet, or take one of many boat trips to the off shore islands and around the beautiful inland sea of the Gulf du Morbihan, where you can stop off on some of the larger islands for lunch, a walk and even a cycle. There is hardly a week that goes by without some festival in the region. Lorient hosts the delightful 10 day Inter- Celtique music festival and Josselin and Hennebont hold annually medieval festival. Many regattas are held at the yachting haven of Trinite-sur-Mer. And don't forget those local markets and brocantes for fresh produce or that antique bargain.

Guest comments
'I would unreservedly recommend this property to anyone looking for a calm and restful holiday away from the stresses of noisy modern life. It is a perfect place for children with loads to explore and nice days out. We came back thoroughly refreshed and reinvigorated, and look forward to returning soon.'
'Thank you so much for our wonderful stay at your 'restful rural retreat'. Wisteria Cottage really was a 'home from home' for both families and we couldn't have asked for anything else (very clean, extremely well maintained gardens and acres of lawns with two heated swimming pools and we eat out each night using the BBQ). Your daily suggestions for days out were so incredibly helpful and came up trumps each time - local knowledge made our holiday very easy and carefree. The cottage had all the amenities that any family could wish for.'
'This is a lovely holiday for families with children of all ages - we were delighted with both Fuschia Cottage and its owners'.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
A key criteria for our purchase was any property had to be a 'home from home' for our guests. The stunning 16th Century properties give a real taste of a bygone age with all modern conveniences. Le Crann offered everything: A warm temperate climate with sunshine hours comparable to Southern France. Brittany has it's own distinct culture and language with extremely welcoming people. Close to many sandy beaches and the glorious countryside of the Blavet Valley. Activities for young & old including golf, cycling, canoeing, sailing and walking. Delightful places of historical interest with many cultural events year long. Proximity to UK and Europe with many access points by car, ferry or plane. Private south facing gardens and extensive communal gardens with heated pools.
Unique benefits of the property
With the large extensive gardens of 4 acres stretching into the beautiful countryside and situated at the end of a quiet country lane with no through traffic, our guests have commented on how safe and peaceful the gardens and surrounding environs are for children of all ages - the perfect place to relax and unwind. Most holiday makers only have one or two weeks in which to enjoy their holiday and a lot of time can sometime be spent trying to familiarise yourself with your environment. We have a small cottage in the main gardens and are on hand, if you so wish, to ensure you maximise your holiday and don't miss out on any holiday experience. For those nature-lovers, walkers and cyclists there are walking paths leading directly from the property to many points of interest in the region.
