This beautifully restored old barn was the winestore for the winemaker (Vigneron) of the village. It is 100 paces from the magnificent square in Capestang Village, which is watched over by its' awesome 13th century chuch. There is a market every Wednesday & Sunday where you can buy the best local produce. The Canal du Midi is a 5 minute walk from the house, and there are a number of bars, restaurants and shops all within walking distance of the property. The Longuedocienne National Park is a 30 min drive, and there is a beach within 20 mins. Watersports are available at the various nearby ports and there are endless walking and cycling tracks, with routes starting in the village. Potholing, cliff diving, canoeing & hill climbing are all available close by.

The property was designed with specific wheelchair facilities. One of the bedrooms was designed for wheelchair access. The property spacious and airy and the entrance has a wheelchair ramp.

There is a 20 minute drive to the nearest beach (Narbonne Plage), which has a marina and a number of excellent fish restaurants. There are also beaches a Valras and Portirange.

Fly to Toulouse with Air Lingus.
Car hire available at airports, with most airlines offering discounts if booked through them. Pickup can also be arranged.

Distances
Languedocienne National Park is a 30 min drive. Beziers and Narbonne (Both 15km) have stunning churches, galleries and museums. You can be in Spain in just and hour and there are a number of ski resorts within 2 hours of the property.
It is a 5 minute walk to the Canal du Midi, which has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

About the owner
I am an accountant who wishes she could live and work from France, instead of rainy old Ireland! I am married with three children and two grandchildren.
We adore our houses in Capestang, and we are glad that our guests seem to love the place too.
What makes our home so special is that while you are right in the middle of a lively village, with bars, restaurants, patiserie, boulangerie, tabac and chemists and doctors, when you close the big gate behind you, you enter a little piece of tranquil heaven.
