Our beautifully renovated 300 year old barn conversion provides you with a large, airy and light open plan living/dining space. 3 bedrooms two bathrooms, downstairs WC, fully equipped bespoke built kitchen, private terrace and large mature gardens. Exposed oak beams, traditionally built stone walls, vaulted ceilings, wood burning stove all combine to provide a first class luxury environment to relax in and spend your holiday.

Changeover day
Changeover is on Saturday. Please arrive after 16.30 and departure before 10.30. Changeovers times are flexible if possible.

Notes on accommodation
The accommodation is suited to families or couples, with so much living space downstairs nobody ever feels on top of each other. Portable air-conditioning unit can be provided in extreme heat if requested charged at 100 euros a week to include running costs. Our beautifully renovated 300 year old barn conversion provides you with a large, airy and light open plan living/dining space.
Accessibility
Whilst our gite has not been specifically constructed for people with mobility problems we have had people stay with mobility problems and have enjoyed their stay encountering no problems.
Outside
The gardens are extensive with the property set in a 2000 square metre plot of land adjacent to farmland. Plenty of outside furniture, tables, chairs, sun loungers, barbecue, swings under the shaded oak trees, climbing frames and rope swings. Beautiful orchard and young vines are to be found in the garden with vines growing over and around the gite terrace walls.
Coast/Beach
The beautiful beaches of the Vendee are just over an hour's drive from us. From the sophistication of Sables D'ollonne or more private and tranquil beaches of St Vincent sur Jard or Tranche sur Mer all are easily visited for the day. Picnics can be provided for your day away at the seaside. Or be welcomed home by a 3 course gourmet meal provided for when you return for only 20 euros a head to include a good quality wine to finish off a perfect day out.
Golf
There are 15 golf courses within a 90 minute radius, 4 of which are only 45 minutes away. They are all playable by the once a year golfer but still provide a challenge for the low handicap player.
Travel
Airports La Rochelle, Nantes, Poitiers are all within easy reach of the gite with a wide number of airlines serving them. The port of St Malo is just over 3 hours. Cherbourg, Caen, Roscoff, Boulogne and Calais are within easy reach too. The new fast train link via Paris on the TGV to La Roche Sur Yon or Poitiers is also within easy reach and we can provide a collection service on request.

Within a 5 mins drive there are the following activities:
Swimming pools - open air and covered. Tennis, go carting, horse riding. Forest of Adventures.
170km of cycle path in the Vendee.
Within a 30 mins drive there are the following activities:
Puy du Fou - a spectacular medieval Park with day and night shows. Visit the local vineyard Cave in Pissotte - Gold award winner, medieval Gardens, fishing at Pescalis, Europes premier fishing centre.

Booking notes
Booking procedure is all conducted by email and telephone with confirmation via email. A £150 non refundable deposit is required with all bookings. Full payment is required 6 weeks prior to arrival. A security deposit of £100 is payable with the full payment and is refunded at the end of the stay less any agreed deductions for damages. A charge of £25 is made for any pets staying.

About the owner
Richard and Juliet have lived in France with their two young girls who are 9 and 7 years old since 2005. Their decision to swap corporate life in the UK to a simpler more fulfilling life style with their children, chickens and vegetable growing has been a huge success. Juliet now provides gourmet meals for our gite guests with seasonal menus and fresh produce, where possible from the garden. She spends her days tending to the garden, children and chickens - a far cry from the busy life led in the UK! Richard can be seen either playing with the children, 'tinkering' with one of his many vintage cars or making a new creation in his wood working workshop.

The Vendee is renowned for it's fabulous beaches and coastline. We are situated in beautiful rolling countryside only just over an hours drive to the coast- the best of both worlds! With three airports and the port of St Malo all within easy access travelling from the UK is simple and fuss free.
Unique benefits of the property
Our gite really does offer first class accommodation: three beautiful bedrooms upstairs with one en-suite luxury shower room and another fully equipped family bathroom. Downstairs the gite has a wonderful airy feel to it with lots of space and light with high ceilings and a chandelier lighting the hand crafted oak staircase and woodburning stove.
The fully equipped kitchen and large dining table with 8 chairs makes eating inside a pleasure. There is a downstairs WC, a large wide screen TV with a Freeview & a DVD player when all you want is to curl up on a comfy sofa to watch your favourite movie from a wide choice of up to date DVDs. Outside, there is a private terrace with loungers, chairs and BBQ.
