The beautiful and imposing Grande Maison is ideal for couples, friends or young who want to unwind and relax with all child accessories available and an enclosed and safe garden. The interior has been recently renovated including a brand new fitted kitchen. It is both spacious and comfortable and the log burning stove is a central focal point. The bedrooms are large and spacious with great views over the countryside. The lovely outdoor garden makes it easy to spend every minute of the long summer days outside. The patio makes the ideal place for breakfast, lunch or dinner with the gas BBQ allowing you the opportunity to easily eat outdoors while the garden provides seclusion and sunshine. Being on the edge of the village the centre of Seglien is only a pleasant 3 minute stroll away; ideal for wandering up to get your French baguette and croissant each morning. The local creperie and art studio is known throughout the area, and the tabac is a great place.

Outside
The garden is secluded, enclosed and spacious with a large open grass area directly in front of the house and is surrounded by extended grounds, which can be explored fully. There is a gas BBQ for guests to use and outdoor dining furniture. There is a swing set in the garden and numerous garden toys and paddling pools which are ideal for young children to splash and have fun in without having the safety concerns of a swimming pool. Games available for young guests to use include swing ball, cricket, croquet, golf, balll for a ball pit.
Coast/Beach
With Le Lac de Guerledan and the Brest/Nantes canal right on the doorstep many leisure activities can be focused on the water: sailing, canoeing, rowing, water skiing, swimming or just relaxing by the lake on one of the beaches. The southern beaches can be reached in 40 minutes, the Northern coast including St. Malo, in 90 minutes and the western beaches in approximately 2 hours.
Golf
Located at Bieuzy Les Eaux, just 25 minutes drive from Seglien is the beautiful Golf De Rimaison. Situated amongst ancient ruins this 9 hole golf course has a spectacular setting that makes the golf enjoyable no matter how well you are playing or how experienced you are. For the serious golfer trips further afield towards Lorient will bring you to 4 or 5 top golf courses to test your skills on.
Travel
Brittany Ferries links St-Malo and Roscoff (both 90 mins from Seglien) with Portsmouth and Plymouth. Direct flights into Brittany are from airports throughout the UK.
Airports in Brittany are: Lorient 45 mins. Dinard 90 minutes. Rennes 90 minutes lien. Nantes 2 hours. Brest 3 hours.
Distances
The centre of Seglien is only a pleasant 3 minute stroll away, ideal for wandering up to get your French baguette and croissant each morning. Within 30 minutes of Seglien are: The Lac de Guerledan. Abbaye de Bon Repos. Gorges du Daoulas. Mur-de-Bretagne. Pontivy.
Further details
The village of Seglien has a Tabac, which sells basic groceries as well as daily bread. The other shop, called Plaisir, has a very quaint tea room, wi-fi and sells a selection of British products and art and crafts. The Marie has a lot of information regarding places to visit.
Booking notes
£100 non-refundable deposit is required on booking. Full payment should be received by cheque at least 2 months prior to departure. (Short/weekend breaks and late bookings have different conditions - please email the owners). £100 refundable damage deposit (cheque) is required at the time of Full payment.

Just wanted to say we had a fantastic time in La Grande Maison. The house is gorgeous and so well-equipped and our daughter loved the lovely big garden. We loved the peace and quiet of Seglien and getting our bread and croissants from Terrase. On the whole, we were very lucky with the weather and had some great days out. Thanks to your notes we found the people who hired bikes in St Nicolas des Eaux and had two lovely bike rides along the Blavet river - we would never have found this place if it wasn't for your notes as there are no signs for it!
We haven't yet decided on our holiday plans next year but are extremely tempted to book your house again.

About the owner
We are a young (ish!) couple with two small and very active boys. We live in Mumbai in India and usually spend our holiday in our holiday home in France.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We love the area of Seglien. The village itself is very quiet and peaceful. Being in central Brittany we find it is ideal for day visits to the coast. On the other hand, it is really nice to while away the afternoon walking around the village seeing the horses and cows in the fields and playing on the swings. Lac Geurdelan is a great place where our boys can play in the sand and swim safely in the lake.
Unique benefits of the property
We bought the house on the edge of the village so that we didn't have to drive in the morning to get fresh bread and croissants. These are available in the village. the peace and quiet in the village is fantastic only the occasional tractor going by on its way to the fields.
