This property will comfortably accommodate 8 people. It is set in the Morbihan region of Southern Brittany only approx 15 miles from the from the sea at Auray, and only approx 18 miles from from the medieval city of Vannes, from where boats can be taken to explore the Gulf of Morbihan and the many islands within it. It comprises a well equipped kitchen, lounge, storage area, double bedroom and bathroom on the ground floor and one double bedroom, two twin bedrooms and a family bathroom on the first floor. There is an enclosed garden & patio. The barn opposite has a table tennis table & stores the garden furniture and tumble dryer. A quiet country area for walking & cycling and an excellent base for exploring the delightful Morbihan region of Brittany.

Changeover day
Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday unless otherwise agreed. Rentals commence at 3pm on the day of arrival and end at 10am on the day of departure.

Notes on accommodation
The property has full gas central heating (gas and electricity are provided without extra charge). The garden area is enclosed providing a suitable playing area for children. The downstairs bedroom and bathroom would appeal to those with mobility difficulties. There is a cot and high chair; pillows and extra blankets are provided.
Outside
There is a large enclosed garden with patio, table & chairs for al fresco eating and reclining chairs for relaxing in the garden. On the opposite side of the road from the gite there is the barn that has a full size table tennis table and also stores the garden chairs cushions etc. There is also a tumble dryer. There is a wood store at the back of the barn for the wood burner.
Coast/Beach
The nearest sea is at Auray approx 15 miles away but there are many interesting beaches and coves all along the southern Brittany coast to explore. St Philibert is just one of the many small delightful beaches.
Golf
There are three golf courses within reasonable driving distance of the property.
Travel
The nearest airport is at Rennes (approx 1 hours drive away). The nearest seaports are at Roscoff (approx 1-1.5 hours),St. Malo (2 hours), Caen (Ouisterham) (2-2.5 hours),and Cherbourg and Le Havre (4 hours). A car or other means of transport is essential.
Distances
The nearest villages are at La Chapelle Neuve and Plumelin (approx 1.5 miles). Locmine and Baud are approx 6 miles away. Vannes is approx 18 miles away.
Further details
There are many interesting towns in the area including Lorient, Josselin and Pontivy whilst the smaller towns of St. Anne D'Auray with its Basilica, and close by Locmine, are all well worth visiting. Leisure faciities in the area include golf, horse riding, tennis and swimming, not only on the sandy beaches of Carnac, Larmor and the Quiberon Peninsula but at the many local swimming pools. The area is also ideal for walking and cycling where there are marked footpaths and quiet roads.
For those with an interest in the Arts the Morbihan has numerous museums, architectural buildings & art galleries. Gougan had a special interest in Pont Aven & many artist live in this delightful town.
Restaurants abound in the towns and villages nearby and there are shops at La Chapelle Neuve and Plumelin (1.5 miles) for your daily bread and a good selection of shops & supermarkets at Locmine and Baud (6 miles).
Booking notes
Bookings will be confirmed upon receipt of the deposit payment of one third of the total fee unless booking is made within six weeks of the start of the holiday, in which case full payment is required. Payment of the balance of the holiday is due six weeks before the date from which the property is required. Failure to pay by the due date may be deemed to be a cancellation of the booking & full payment will be required unless the property can be relet. Cancellation insurance is recommended.
