Changeover day
Changeover days are normally Saturday during peak season, but there is some flexibility outside of this.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is fitted with electric heaters in each room. However the villa is well insulated and benefits from being cool inside in the Summer while it is hot outside on the decking. The large lawned garden is ideal for children to play safely.
Accessibility
The property is all on one level with easy access to the villa from the drive.
Outside
The front of the villa is south facing. The private swimming pool is 9m x 4.5m and has an electric cover. It has built in access steps and ranges from 1.0m min to 1.7m max in depth There is a large decking area in front of the villa and pool. The garden is fully fenced with shrubs along the boundary. There is a large lawned area ( see pictures) The patio area in front of the villa has plenty of room for the sunbeds, sun loungers and outdoor table and chairs. There is a new barbecue provided.
Coast/Beach
The lake is 10 mins walk and is suitable for most water sports. It is ideal for families with younger children because of the sandy shallow beach. There are 2 smaller ports with local restaurants and amenities for hiring boats, canoes, etc. within a further 20 mins walk. Biscarrosse beach and the Atlantic Coast is a 5 mins drive away. Renowned for the dunes and superb beaches, local resurants and amenities. The view from the top of Pyla de la Dune should not be missed on your way to Arcachon.
Golf
The property is located on a prestige 27 hole golf course, located between lake and ocean. The site is constructed entirely from the landaise forest with trees dating back to Napoleon! You can choose between two different courses:
The lake: 9 short holes but technical. Par 32, length 2.172m.
The Ocean: 18 championships holes making its path through the undulating dunes. Par 72, length 5.784m.
The restaurant is Parcours Gourmand. There are 2 other courses available with 30 minute drive. There are many others within 1-2 hours drive.
Travel
Bordeaux Airport is 45 mins drive and Biarritz 1 hour 45 mins drive. TGV train arrives at Arcachon during the Summer months and is 30 mins drive from Biscarrosse. The use of a car is recommended. If driving from the UK the villa is 590 miles from Calaise. The new motorway to Le Mans has made the driving much easier.
Distances
Biscarrosse ville is 3km and Biscarrosse plage is 4km. Dune de Pyla the largest sand dune in Europe is 35mins drive. Biaritz is 2 hours.
The lake is 5 minutes walk.
Further details
Biscarrosse Ville and Biscarrosse Plage are 2 separate towns offering supermarkets, shops and markets. There are a number of banks. Many restaurants exist to suit most pockets. Activities: golf, surfing, water sports, beach, forest cycling and hiking tracks, horse-riding, wine-tasting, sailing. Visit: Arcachon, Dune du Pilat, Bordeaux, Biarritz, Pyrenees. Basque Country - Spain.
Booking notes
Bookings can be made direct with the owners for a minimum of one week during high season. A 30% non-refundable deposit is required at the time of your booking. The remainder 30 days before you arrive unless agreed otherwise. Will require a cash breakage deposit on arrival.

It combined something for everyone. I love the Atlantic beaches but when you get tired of being bashed around by the waves you can simply retreat to the lake. I think the kids and my partner were very glad to be able to do that on a couple of days. Bordeaux offers the shopping and the wine district gives you a bit of history / sight-seeing (St. Emillion was beautiful). Then Biscarosse Plage is a great beach town with all you want from that. We got a visit from my parents for 5 days and my sister and her family for three and everyone said what a great place it was. When, I was a kid I think we stayed further down at Mimizan - but I don't think that's so close to the lakes, so I think Biscarosse was better for families.
