A large dining kitchen with open log fire.
A separate sitting room containing comfortable sofa and chairs with English TV channels and DVD player. A selection of dvds is available for your use.
There is also an arriere cuisine with 2nd sink, dishwasher, automatic washing machine and fridge/freezer.
Three bath/shower rooms, one on each floor.
The first floor consists of a large bedroom with French double bed and antique wardrobe and a cot, a twin bedded room with French beds and oak armoire and a small child's room with 6ft bed.
On the second floor are two large bedrooms, one with a double bed and cot and one with four 3ft singles.

A large living/dining room with comfortable sofas and chairs and French doors to a private patio with a field beyond. English TV channels, DVD player.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, fridge/freezer and an automatic washing machine.
There is also a downstairs cloakroom. Linen available to hire. Upstairs there is a bathroom/WC with a shower over the bath and three pretty bedrooms; one with a double bed and wash basin, one twin bedded room and one with bunk beds and one single. All bedrooms have fitted wardrobes. Cot available.

 

Notes on accommodation
The House has oil fired central heating, whilst The Cottage has electric heating.

Outside
The House has a private patio with garden furniture and barbecue. The Cottage has a private patio also with garden furniture and barbecue. Both properties have use of the courtyard, with lawned areas suitable for smaller children to play and flower borders. There is a large grassed area behind The Cottage suitable for older children to play. The owner has 30 acres of land which are rented out to a local farmer and there are cows with calfs and sometimes horses in these fields. Guests are very welcome to walk over this land during their stay.

Coast/Beach
A pleasant 20 minute (15km) drive to the coast offers a selection of uncrowded sandy beaches with ample parking available. There are beautiful walks over the cliffs around the lighthouse at Carteret and in the sand dunes.

Golf
Two 9 hole courses. La Glacerie nr Cherbourg has good views of the sea and port. St Georges de la Riviere is a links course near the coast. 18 hole courses are available down the coast at Granville and across the peninsula at Omaha beach.

Travel
Cherbourg Ferry Terminal 30 minutes drive (31 km)
Caen Airport 1 1/2 hours drive (106km)
The ports of Caen 1 3/4 hours drive (123km) Le Havre 2 1/2 hours drive (194km) and Dieppe 3 1/2 hours drive (277km)are also within easy reach.

Distances
St Jacques de Nehou and Besneville are 5 minutes drive both have bakers/general stores. Bricquebec and St Sauveur are 9km away and have chateaux, supermarkets, banks and market days.
Cherbourg with more services is 30 minutes drive.
Carteret (19km) has a good summer market and good restaurants. There are ample good restaurants in the area to suit all tasts and budjets. The Normandy Landing beaches and museums are about a 45 minute drive (35km). Bayeux and Caen are about 1 1/2 hours drive away.

Further details
There is good cycling in the area as the roads are very quiet. Horse riding is available at Barneville with instruction or rides along the sandy beaches. Sailing, sand yachting and kyacs for hire are also availble.
