Notes on accommodation
We are happy to accept children, the area in front of the gite is fenced with a gate. All rooms have cooling fans for hot weather. We will consider pets out of high season only, please contact us directly to discuss. Apart from the log burners there is electric heating to all bedrooms. Eco logs sold to gite guests at cost, or they can be purchased at the local Intermarche.
Our farmhouse is let in the summer months but the gite is completly separate with its own entrance, pool, garden and does not share any facilities with the house. We live on site but away from both properties as to not to intrude but we are here if needed!
Accessibility
Gite is accessed by two low steps, (a ramp can be fixed for these) but would be suitable for disabled access as two bedrooms, kitchen, living room and bathroom are all located on the ground floor. Please note that the shower is raised above floor level and is not a wet room, and the toilet is of normal height. The swimming pool is also accessed by a raised bathing platform.
Outside
Gite has an enclosed gated, gravelled patio area with vine covered arbores giving shade in the sun, overlooking private garden. There is a table and chairs for six, BBQ, and buckets and spades! The above ground pool located within the large garden is 7.5 by 4.8m and is approx 4 feet deep. Guests will have exclusive access to the pool (heated May to 1st week Sept by solar panels) as well as the raised sunbathing area. The garden has sun loungers, magnificent views and all day sun, mature trees offer shade if needed. There is plenty of room for playing games. In the garden is a permanent barbeque built within the ancient breadoven for guest's use. The property is exceptionally beautiful and is a haven for wildlife, with kingfishers, pine martins, deer and wild boar all have which have been spotted. There are numerous walks around the property exploring the river, ruined mill, meadows and forest. Adjoining our land is a forest with acres of tracks and paths for hours of walking.
Coast/Beach
The truly astounding southwest beaches are approximately 40 minutes away by car with the resorts Guidel-Plage, Lamore-Plage and the Ile de Groix close by. There are many, beautiful beaches in Morbihan, from small coves to large sweeping beaches. You can choose from family beaches which have full facilities, to isolated and wild rugged ones. We are ideally situated for the south and north coasts so you are always spoilt for choice. There are also many islands in the Golfe de Morbihan.
Golf
We have several high quality courses all located within a 40 minute drive of the gite and a European tour course located within an hour. Jeremy, who plays golf is happy to advise on the best courses to play. For full details please see our website (link below).
Special interest holidays
We have had many guests who are artists, they all say that the estate, especially the area around the ruined mill is perfect for painting and sketching, the area is totally unspoilt and untouched.

In the village of Lignol There is "Chez Nous" A top rate Bistro style restaurant which is open from Thurs-Sunday, we also have a Creperie. We have a first class bakery, which also sells our French dairy Farmer neighbour's fresh, unpasteurised organic milk, its to die for! In the next village of Kernescleden there is a very good village shop selling all manner of things including wine, it is a 4 min drive from the gite. In Guemene a 8 mins drive there are several restaurants and bars. There are 2 banks, 2 supermarkets, two garages. Here you will also find the doctor and dentist if needed. If its clothes shopping you are interested in, Lorient is the place which also has a world class marina and restaurants. A 25 mins drive away you will find the Lac de Guerledan, its very beautiful and 7.5 miles long. Dotted around its shores are little hamlets, especially Anse de Sordan and Beau Rivarge, both of which have beaches which are safe for swimming, canoes and pedalos for hire and restaurants etc. There are also motor boat trips around the lake. Also in the same area is the lovely abbey of Bon Repos. A 12C Cisercain abbey that is being restored and is well worth a visit. In August every year they host an evening of story telling and lights which is always a sell out. On Sundays there is a colourful market beside the abbey and the Nantes/Brest canal. A little further afield 1hr are the famous standing stones at Carnac, which is at the gateway to the Golf de Morbihan and its hundreds of islands, again one can visit by boat. We give lots of helpful tips and advice in our welcome pack.
Our games room also has gym equipment, cross trainer, exercise bike, lifting bar with weights, used at guests own risk.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We fell in love with Penderff as it is peaceful, beautiful and tranquil without being too far away from a village. We love the area around Penderff as it has many forests, walks, rivers and streams as well as history in its adjacent towns. There is so much to see and do that one family come for the last four years and they are still finding new places to go. We are within 45 mins of the south coast beaches which means that you are not surrounded by crowds of holiday makers and busy traffic, but close enough to enjoy a seaside holiday. The countryside is diverse, its not flat and arable but woods, hills and valleys and the Nantes Brest canal is also close by. We are so easy to get to, 2hrs from St Malo ferry port and 2hrs from Brest or Dinard airport.
Unique benefits of the property
We are within easy reach of towns and shops but whilst at Penderff not a car can be heard. We have 100 acres of our own land for walking around, a little fishing lake with rowing boat, ruins and woods to explore and the river to walk along.
