Maison Guy is a spacious, family home designed for holiday life, set on a hillside with far reaching views. Our well-appointed single storey villa has 4 generous double bedrooms but can comfortably sleep up to 11 people when using the mezzanine. Spacious terraces for outdoor dining and a large private pool (11x5m), mean that you will soon slip into the lazy routine of a French summer. For a change of pace, it is only a 5 minute drive to the village restaurants and shops and the bustling coast is easily within reach. The villa lends itself to two families sharing, as at both ends of the main living area there is a double and a twin bedded room as well as a large shared bathroom with bath and shower. Each double room opens out onto its own terrace area. Cabanon Chadwick was fully renovated and extended in traditional Provencal style in 2002. As the name suggests this stone-built property was once a shepherd's cottage and is set amidst beautiful cork oaks and olive groves.

Travel
There are always those adventurous souls who take an over-night ferry to Le Havre and arrive in the South of France within a day. We would suggest however, that if you want to drive, a morning crossing to Northern France, the motorway via Reims and an overnight stop (in Burgundy) makes for a pleasant journey. Alternatively, La Garde-Freinet is an easy 1½ hour’s drive from both Marseilles and Nice airports and 45 minutes from Toulon airport. Car hire is recommended.
Distances
Our homes are just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk from the market village of La Garde-Freinet.

Further details
La Garde Freinet is a medieval town in the centre of the Massif des Maures. Picturesque roads winding through forests of cork oaks and chestnut groves reach the village where restaurants and shops surround the main square. We enjoy nothing more than to walk into the village in the morning to collect the freshly baked bread and croissants and browse around the market on a Wednesday and Sunday.
There are many places of interest to visit. Below are a few suggestions, but the possibilities are endless: Grimaud: an appealing village, flowered, winding streets lead to a feudal castle 15 mins. St Tropez: a lovely old port, home to the rich and famous 30 mins. Ste Maxime: less glamorous than St Tropez but equally great for soaking up the atmosphere 25 mins. Aix-en-Provence: reputedly the prettiest town in France 1 hour. St Paul de Vence: an old hilltop village 45 mins. Aquatica, Frejus: largest water fun park on the Côte d’Azur 45 mins). Monaco: the glitzy principality famous for the Grand prix and casino 2 hours. Gorges du Verdon: deepest gorges in Europe 2 hours.
Local activities around La Garde-Freinet and on the Côte d’Azur include: Hiking, Mountain biking, Boules, Tennis, Golf, Windsurfing, Water skiing, Paragliding, Sailing and Horse riding.

Just wanted to say we’ve just got back and had a fantastic holiday at Maison Guy. Found the villa very comfortable and well equipped. You have a lovely home there and we look forward to having another visit in the future. It is in a great location, far enough away from the busier coast but close enough to travel to those locations if you want to. We managed to get to St Tropez, Ste Maxime, Frejus and even to Manaco. First time visit to the South of France but definitely not the last.
Just wanted to drop you a line to tell you how much we enjoyed our stay at your super property. We had the most wonderful time, everything surpassed our expectations, including the location. Thank you so much for all the small touches that made us feel we were truly at home away from home – milk in the fridge, towels, soap and toilet rolls and various toys for the kids. Your local contacts were friendly, helpful and welcoming; this was the perfect holiday.
