Priory cottage is a beautiful family gite with through lounge/dining area, fully equipped kitchen, ground floor WC and shower room, 2 double bedrooms and a mezzanine area equipped with a double sofa bed. The accommodation has everything you need for a relaxing and memorable holiday. Outside you have use of your own private terrace which opens onto a large sun filled landscaped courtyard with BBQ area, from where the extensive landscaped gardens are accessed. Guests have the use of a secure swimming pool (shared with the on-site owners) complete with a further BBQ and dining area under the pergola where meals can be enjoyed alfresco. For those days when shade is needed there is also a wisteria covered raised terrace.

Changeover day is Saturday although there is some flexibility outside of peak times.

Accessibility
Wheelchair access is possible to the gite, and to the pool and garden area, however there are ornamental gravelled areas to negotiate.
Outside
Pool shared with onsite owners. Private terrace which opens onto a large sun filled landscaped courtyard with BBQ area.
Coast/Beach
There are many wonderful beaches along the coast an easy drive away. The nearest is at St Georges de Didonne about an hours drive where you will find a fabulous family beach with its long sweep of white sand, backed with bars and restaurants. In high season there are beach clubs for children and water sports on offer. Also worth a visit is for its wealth of shops and restaurants is Royan is a little further along the coast from St George.
Golf
We are about 20 minutes away from a beautiful golf course at Cognac (St Brice) and just over an hours drive away from the Links course at Royan.
Travel
We are easily reached by car from the western ports in 5 to 6 hours and Calais in 6 or 7 hours. The airports of Bordeaux (BA, Easyjet and Ryanair) Limoges and La Rochelle (Ryanair, Flybe) Poitiers (Ryanair) are all within 90 minutes drive and all have car hire facilities.
The use of a car is essential if you want to explore the area.
Distances
The nearest supermarket is 9km away. The nearest bar/restaurant is 2km away, and is an easy walk. There are plenty of restaurants within a 10km radius.
Quality shopping is available in either Cognac or Angouleme, both 20 minutes drive.
Further details
Walking, cycling and fishing are popular pastimes and we can advise routes or help you obtain your visitors fishing licence. Sam our chocolate Labrador would be more than happy to escort you on any of your walks if you wanted his company. There are Kayak clubs close by at Vibrac and Jarnac for those feeling adventurous, whilst the hamlet has facilities for football, tennis, raquetball, table tennis and boules. There is also a children's play area. Water skiing golf and horseriding are all available locally all year round. Our own mayor is a Cognac distiller of note and degustations (tastings) are available there and at many other renowned Cognac houses nearby. The nearest supermarkets, markets, local shops and banks can be found within a 5-10 minutes drive in the towns of Chateauneuf and Jarnac.
Booking notes
A 25% deposit is required at the time of booking with full payment being made 8 weeks before your arrival. Payment can be made in euros or sterling by cheque, cash or bank transfer. I am sorry but we do not accept credit cards.
