Chalet la Ravine is a luxury chalet nestled in its own grounds, just 5 minutes flat walk to the village. Alp Experience is owned and run by husband and wife team (Dave and Suzi Lynch). We are passionate about the service we provide and do our best to ensure you have a great holiday experience. With 7 years experience in running catered chalets, all of our menus are carefully chosen to be real "crowd pleasers" with something for everyone, and we can cater for food intolerances.

Notes on accommodation
There is plenty of outside parking for 5 vehicles and in the summer lots of outside space for working on bikes and hose pipes for cleaning the bikes. Secure garage for all equipment.
Outside
There is plenty of outdoor space and a large sunny south facing balcony, and of course that hot tub.
Coast/Beach
Just an hours drive to Lake Geneva with its great beaches and boat rental. Lac de Montriond is only 10 minutes drive, and this provides a great. Swimming/sunbathing place in the summer. Also, Les Gets has its own swimming lake just minutes from the chalet
Golf
The course is just a few minutes from the chalet and has recently undergone a facelift. This is an 18 hole par-70 course with panoramic views of The Alps, and Mont Blanc in line with the 7th hole. This rather technical course is quite unique thanks to its diversity. You’re sure to fall in love with the variety and quality of this finely landscaped course. Open in 1995, the course has been constantly improved over the past decade. Indeed, you’ll be amazed by this mountain course’s greens, and for ease of users it has 30 golf carts. Summer prices for 2009 from 33 - 50 euros for high season. 6 green fees for 220 euros.

One of Europe's finest and most spectacular 18 hole championship golf courses. With a standard scratch score of 72 over a total playing distance of 6030m.
Skiing
There are 12 major winter sport resorts in the Portes du Soleil region. Our chalet is ideally located just 2 minutes by bus to the main lifts, and we will chauffeur you to and from the slopes daily. There are 7 different start and finish points within Les Gets for your days skiing. Les Gets is based at 1172m, high up in the French Alps. The winter is packed with a host of events each week from 'fire week' to dog sledding races, so there is a lot to keep you entertained off the slopes. Les Gets also has its own ski area of Mont Chery, which has 4 black and 5 red runs, which are a challenging test of your skiing skills. The summit of these is 1850m. Les Gets' long history as a winter sports resort is proven by its status in being the location of the first Ecole du Ski Français In recent years there has been heavy investment in state of the art machinery and lift.

Les Gets is a very family orientated village, with excellent facilities for children with a creche and a large special ski area for the kids. There are many bars and restaurants, catering for all budgets. Proximity to Morzine means that there is a great range of shops, boutiques and ski shops.

Booking secured by email / phone and all bookings will be held for 10 days to allow transfer of the deposit of 30%. Balance is payable in full 10 weeks before the start date of the holiday.

About the owner
We are an Irish couple with 5 years experience in catered chalets. For the first 2 years we worked for a small chalet firm in Chatel, and loved it so much we set up our own business to run our own chalet.
A love of France and of skiing were our main driving factors, and there is a saying that ‘a bad day on the slopes is better than a good day in the office‘.
Dave is in charge of logistics and all skiing, and really enjoys guiding. His Ski Safari is not to be missed.
Suzi is in charge of the cooking and all chalet and accommodation matters, and takes great pride in producing great home cooked meals with the emphasis on a family style atmosphere. The daily cake is always well received by the guests after a long hard days skiing.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
Les Gets is a super ski area, and resting in the shadow of Mont Blanc gives it a superb snowfall record, and makes it a snow sure resort.
With access to all 9 ski stations in the Portes du Soleil ski area, 650 kms of pistes, you will be spoilt for choice when it comes to skiing. Also, our very own mountain, Mont Chery, is a well kept secret and during the busy weeks this is mainly skied by locals. Red and black runs and great off-piste make it a real playground
Les Gets is a real family resort, with great emphasis on children's skiing with their own special ski area.
Unique benefits of the property
Our chalet is just a 5 min flat walk from the village, so you can easily pop out for an after dinner drink and not have to worry about getting a taxi home. The real luxury is the 10 seater outdoor hot tub in private grounds, Chalet la Ravine provides luxury and is a great home from home experience. "If Carlsberg did chalet holidays it would be Alp Experience" (quote from our quest book).Ski equipment is ordered in advance and delivered to the chalet at a time that suits you. If you have any problems during the week with equipment or want to change your gear, the team from Door Step Skis will call to the chalet. All of their equipment is new or nearly new (oldest equipment is 2 years old).
