Set in the charming village of Le Chinaillon, deep in the heart of the Aravis mountain chain, La Ferme de Serge is a traditional Savoyarde farm which has been lovingly and painstakingly renovated by its owners. It now houses 3 fully furnished apartments: 'Le Grenier' (sleeps 10), 'La Savoie' (sleeps 8) and 'L'Ecurie' (sleeps 4) - all of which retain original features from the time it was built in 1845, capturing the essence of life in the Haute-Savoie. With only a 50m walk to the pistes, La Ferme de Serge makes for great holiday accommodation during the Winter ski season as well as providing an ideal Summer holiday destination.

Changeover day
Changeover is Sunday to Sunday in 2010/11 and Saturday to Saturday in 2011/12. Arrival after 4pm and departure by 10am. In low season we can be more flexible and offer shorter stays.

This apartment is full of alpine charm - respecting the past while at the same time providing modern, comfortable living. Bedroom 1: Double bedroom with en-suite antique bathroom with WC. Bedroom 2: Double bedroom with en-suite antique bathroom with WC. Bedroom 3: Large twin bedroom with zip and click twin beds which can be converted into a large double bed. Bedroom 4: A small bunk bedroom suitable for 2 children. A separate bathroom with WC. The living room - furnished with comfortable sofas and a wood-burning stove creates a convivial space for relaxing with a small west facing balcony. A rustic kitchen, equipped with Smeg appliances(electric hob and oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher), offers a practical space for cooking and dining. There is a large south-facing balcony, great for outside dining. Central heating throughout, a CD sound system, wifi and a washing machine. Sleeps 8 with a maximum of 6 adults. |

L'Ecurie (Sleeps 2/4. 1 Bedroom)

L'Ecurie is an ideal romantic 'bolt hole' for 2. Furnished with simple but authentic antiques this apartment has a snug quality that is great to come back to after a day in the mountains. Accommodation includes a double bedroom with en-suite shower room and WC. There is a large open plan living/kitchen area equipped with electric hob and oven, fridge and dishwasher. A curtained off bunk bed in the living area can sleep 2 young children. There is central heating throughout. Wifi available. |

Central heating throughout. Le Grenier and La Savoie both have heated 'boot' rooms for storing ski wear and equipment.

This property is not suitable for wheelchair users.
Outside
Large garden, with views of the mountains all around, shared by all 3 apartments with trampoline in the Summer. BBQs and garden furniture for each apartment.
Coast/Beach
Lake Annecy - the cleanest natural lake in Europe - is a 40 min drive away. Not only does it have beaches and supervised swimming spots but also offers a full selection of water sports. There is a large open air lido in Le Grand Bornand with 3 pools to suit all age groups, plenty of sunbathing space and a cafe.
Golf
'Le Rocher Blanc' is a 9 hole golf course set in the beautiful Vallee du Bouchet of Le Grand Bornand a 10 min drive from Le Chinaillon. Open from the beginning of May to the end of October.
Skiing
Le Chinaillon, situated at 1300m, is renowned as a family friendly ski resort, offering 90kms of runs to suit all abilities, as well as numerous opportunities for off piste skiing.
A ski bus link to La Clusaz (also a part of the Aravis ski area) extends this to 220km. A 50m walk from La Ferme de Serge takes you straight onto the piste with easy access to 2 ski lifts.
Ski hire is a 5 min walk away near to the ski pass office and childrens' jardin de neige. Snowboarding is popular in the resort too and Le Chinaillon's purpose built snow park is listed as one of the top 5 in France. There is extensive cross country skiing in Le Chinaillon and Le Grand Bornand, as well as snowy walking paths particularly suited to raquettes.

Shops and restaurants in Le Chinaillon: 5-15 min walk.
Le Grand Bornand: 10 min drive. Frequent ski bus in Winter.
La Clusaz: 15-20 min drive also served by ski bus.
