Notes on accommodation
Linen: bedlinen and towels provided (all pillows and quilts are provided sheets and covers).
Please note:No heating is supplied in the cottage, apart from the log burner. An initial amount of logs is supplied and extra amounts are charged at 10 euros per large barrow full.
Accessibility
Unfortunately the properties are not suitable for wheelchair access.
Outside
Black Mountain Gite has a gravelled area to the front of the gite and a large lawn area with garden furniture, overlooking open countryside. The rear gate opens out onto woodland tracks which lead up into the foothills of the black mountains, and has many marked walkways suitable for use by horses, bicycles and on foot (good walking boots advised) 'circuits de montagne noir', maps can be provided upon request.
Coast/Beach
Most beaches are within an hours drive, some are closer, but they are all accessible from this location. You can sample the rough surfing waves of La Torche in the south west coast, to the gentle lapping shallow waters of the west and north coasts, and the wonderful pink granite, and calm waters not to be missed as one of natures natural beauties. Concarnau on the south coast with its walled castle and small tourist artisanal shops is well worth a visit too.

Walking: We supply full instructions and advice for more than 50 circular walks all within an hours drive. From Crozon Peninsular to the West, the Pink Granite coast to the North, the Enchanted Forest of Huelgoat in Central Brittany to the Pointe de Raz to the south. Please see our web site for further details. This property is ideally suited to nature lovers, explorers and walkers and cyclists and fishermen and active types. Close to the Nantes to Brest canals with miles of cycle tracks and countless routes for walking, rivers for fishing, boating and swimming. We supply a number of books suitable for walking routes from the pink granite coast to the Pointe de Van at the opposite end of Brittany, to discovering caves and Menhirs all over inland Brittany, and all easily accessible for a day trip.

Further details
Gourin is just a few miles away with market day on a Monday, supermarkets restaurants shops etc, and large outdoor swimming pool. Carhaix is also just a few miles away with market day on a Saturday, selling fresh fish, fruit and vegetables, and plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. There is a large new swimming pool, with water tunnel slides, jacuzzi and children's pool. Go carting and bowling is also available in Carhaix. Horse riding is available and half day trekking run by a British family nearby. Most coasts are within 40 minutes, which is an ideal location to explore the whole of Brittany. There are many historic buildings, churches, chateau and museums in the surrounding area, with plenty of culture and charm, and tourist attractions within easy access. Activities nearby: Nantes to Brest canals. Bird watching, boating, canoeing, cycling, fishing, go carting, golf, hiking, horse riding, rambling, riverside activities, sight seeing, swimming, tree adventure park, walking.
Booking notes
Booking form will be sent on application, and confirmation sent by email to secure your booking. We request 20% deposit, and the balance paid six weeks before the start date of your holiday. We also request a £100 security deposit, payable with the final balance and returned a few days after departure.

About the owner
We decided to move to Brittany in 2004 with our two children and dogs and horses. We wanted to enjoy the finer things in life and leave all the hustle and bustle behind. We have managed to produce quite a lot of our own vegetables and meat and truly live 'The Good Life'.
We have time to go walking along coastlines and up into the hills, horse ride around the mountains and cycle along quiet paths without heavy traffic or congestion.
We think we have been very lucky to have chosen such a lovely area of Brittany. We hope you will come and visit the area and enjoy it as much as we do.
