Pool (11 x 6 m) for sole use of guests - safety cover and locally maintained. Outside furniture including loungers, parasols, tables and chairs plus table tennis table. Barbecue - charcoal. Maintained gardens. 2 terraces one by pool and the other adjacent to the house.
Coast/Beach
Approx 2 hours drive to Atlantic beaches (Biarritz) or 3 hours to the Mediterranean.
Golf
The Château de Pallanne golf course is an absolutely stunning 18 hole 6341m (6968yds) Par 72 in parkland surrounding the château and is only 6km from the house. In addition golf is available at The Bigorre golf course is a challenging 5893m (6476yds) Par 72 parkland course with spectacular views towards the highest peaks if the Pyrenees, and at Golf de Lourdes, which is a picturesque 5,384m (5916yds) Par 71 golf course set in woodland on the shores of Lac du Lourdes. In addition there are two more local golf courses of equally high standard at Lannemezan and Eauze that can be utilised during your stay.

Toulouse Airport - 1 hour 30 minutes. Pau Airport - 45 mins. Tarbes/Lourdes Airport - 1 hour. Bordeaux Airport 2 1/2 hours. Carcassone Airport - 2 1/2 hours. Girona (Barcelona) Airport - 4 hours.
Distances
1/2 hour from Auch, 1 hour to Pyrenees, 1/2 hour to Lourdes.
Further details
You can get just about everything you need from the shops in the village - the Casino Supermarket is well-stocked with good quality produce and friendly service. There is also a bank, two bakers, two butchers/charcuterie, a grocer's, pharmacy, off-license, post office, bank, tobacconists, ironmongers, a bar, a cafe and more. Supermarkets - the nearest are the 'Intermarché', 'Lidl' and 'Carrefour' in Mirande. There are also hypermarches in 'Auch' and 'Tarbes'.
Local Markets - Monday is market day in Mirande. This is a large market with many different streets and squares specialising in food, flowers, clothes. There is also a large covered market with excellent meat, fish and cheese. Thursday is market day in Miélan and the market is held in and around the square. It is a small market which varies from week to week but which usually has good quality local vegetables, cheeses, eggs, chicken, fish and charcuterie. The butcher also prepares a delicious 'dish of the day' (Päella/Boeuf Bourguinon etc) to take away which he sells from a huge pan outside his shop!
Miélan is also hosting a 'marché de l'été' or 'summer market' every Sunday throughout July and August. Restaurants – there are plenty of local restaurants that we have tried and liked or which have been recommended to us by friends. Local attractions : waterslides, tennis, horseriding, sailing. Marciac Jazz Festival first two weeks in August. Auch with its beautiful cathedral & wonderful architecture. D’Artagnan museum at Lupiac. Vineyards Madiran, St Mont. Remains of a Gallo-Roman villa at Seviac with excellent mosaics. Country and Western Festival in Mirande mid July. Courses Landaises (acrobatics/gymnastics with a cow that doesn’t die!). Tempo Latino Festival last weekend of July. Golf (6 courses). GR trails of approx. 700km (including 4 pilgrim routes). Canoeing/kayaking. Quad biking. Skiing.
