Set in the peaceful village of Sixt Fer a Cheval at the end of the delightful Giffre Valley, this area of France offers a multitude of summer activities (walking, cycling, mountain climbing, white water rafting) as well as the full sweep of winter sports activities being one of the five linked villages of the Grand Massif ski area. The accommodation comprises the upper two floors of the old village 'Epicerie', refurbished this year to a very high standard by local craftsmen.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday. Arrival after 3pm. Departure before 10am.

Accessibility
Access to the property is via an external staircase, and although there is a suitable handrail and railings, people with mobility problems may have difficulty.
Skiing
The property is ideally located for the winter sports enthusiast, with the expanse of the Grand Massif ski area on the doorstep. The area has five interconnected ski stations (Sixt, Samoens, Flaine, Morillon, Les Carroz) and 265km of pistes, the longest of which is a 14km blue run between the tumbling waterfalls ending in Sixt. The zig-zaging route of this 'Les Cascades' piste can be seen from the chalet. Two short lifts from the end of this run will take the skier or snowboarder above the property from where they can ski down to the door. There is an ESF ski school in the village and the nursery slopes are 50m away for the beginners. For the non-skier, the ski bus stop is 50m away and the bus takes one minute to get to Sixt village center and five minutes to get to the nearby town of Samoens both of which have additional bars, cafes and shops. There are also the alternative activities of snow shoeing, dog sledging, cross country skiing, ballooning, paragliding to name but a few.
