The chalet is a very attractive and comfortable base from which to discover this fascinating area of France. It has 100sq.m of accommodation including 4 double bedrooms, a large living room with comfortable living area, dining area and kitchen. It has a bathroom with bath/shower and basin, a shower room with shower basin and wc and a separate wc. There are two balconies, both facing the impressive Aravis chain of mountains.

Changeover day

The heating, including the water, is electric (underfloor and radiators). The cost is included. No smoking or pets please.
Outside
Bedrooms 1 and 2 share a balcony. The living room has a balcony with table and chairs. Large terrace to the front of the property, with space for table tennis or relaxing in the late afternoon sun. Garden chairs, table tennis, boules, sledges, bikes all available in the garage.
Coast/Beach
For a change of scenery, take the 40 minute drive down to Annecy and its beautiful lake. You can take a boat trip, go for a swim or just admire it from the shore. The old town is brimming with character and restaurants line the picturesque canals.
Skiing
In winter the village has 82km of family friendly downhill skiing and around 60km of stunning cross-country trails. 5 minutes to the slopes by car or ski bus. A further 132km of downhill skiing is available in neighbouring La Clusaz, 10 minutes away by car or regular ski bus.
Travel
1 hour from Geneva Airport. 540 miles from Calais (Autoroute to within 30 minutes of Le Grand Bornand).
Distances
40 minute drive down to the town of Annecy. 30 minutes to the nearest swimming beach on Lake Annecy, at Talloires. 1 hr to Chamonix. 50 minutes to Megève (or 30 mins if you 'ski in' from La Giettaz).
Further details
Le Grand Bornand is a proper village, inhabited all year round. There is a market every Wednesday morning, which grows and shrinks with the seasons, but you will always find a good selection of local cheeses, meats and a fresh spit-roast chicken for lunch. If you choose the right week in Spring or Autumn, you will see troupes of cows trotting right past the chalet, bells jangling, on their way to or from the Alpine pastures. In summer the range of activities is extensive. There are beautiful walks, to suit all ages and abilities and a good network of cycle routes for both mountain and road cyclists. Some ski lifts operate throughout the summer to transport walkers, cyclists and their bikes to the higher trails and the Tour de France regularly passes through the village - and right past the balcony of Les Noisettes! There is also tennis, golf, paragliding, climbing (including Via Ferrata), trampolining and horse riding. The village has an open-air swimming pool with slides and a children's play area.

Prices are for the property, per week in £ sterling. £50 discount when 2 weeks are booked together. Payment accepted in pounds or Euros. Email us to hold your chosen dates, while we wait for a 30% deposit to confirm the booking. The balance is due 8 weeks before departure.
