Ophelia is our home. A charming but modest villa ideally tucked away in a quiet residential area of Cannes. We bought our rather tired but charming Villa Ophelia in 2003 since when we have been undertaking modest improvements to provide a simple but comfortable home. Because we live at Ophelia we are able to offer a personal service to our guests in our 2 self contained apartments, Jardin Ophelia and Petit Ophelia. We are also often available at weekends to offer the services of our chauffeur, John, and our Vintage Rolls Royce. Ideal for those who might wish to gently cruise the Riviera or to simply celebrate a very special occasion, all of course subject to the mechanical facilities of a 1933 motor car!

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds. Please ask for rates during the Cannes Film Festival, and other Festivals. These prices are for guidance and are flexible so please ask.
Changeover day
Friday is our preffered changeover day, but please do ask and we will try out best to accommodate.

Notes on accommodation
The property has fully reversible heating and air-conditioning. Parking is available either on site or just around the corner, please ask. We welcome young adults of 14 years or more, but regrettably Ophelia simply is not suitable for children and, I am afraid, we must limit smoking just to the garden.
We do, of course, appreciate that your time in Cannes is precious. Naturally, both our apartments, are offered with just about everything we can think of to help you enjoy your stay. Fresh linen, towels for beach and bath; all you need to do is bring yourselves, your personal effects and something to eat and drink. If you let us know we will even stock your larder prior to your arrival! Nothing could be easier and we hope, nothing is too much trouble, should you have any specific needs or requirements, simply let us know and we will do our very best to oblige.
Accessibility
Jardin Ophelia could be suitable for some people with mobility difficulties as it is all on one level and the showers are of a large size. Unfortunately Petite Ophelia would not be suitable due to its access.
Coast/Beach
La Crositte is just a approx 15 minute walk away, or if you prefer there is a bus stop nearby that will take you right to the centre in just over 5 minutes.
Travel
Nice airport is 25 km. There is a regular half hourly coach service direct from the airport into Cannes. Upon arrival Taxis are easily found next to the bus station or if you would like, we can collect you from either the airport or Cannes. Cannes Railway station is just 2km away. During the summer months there are regular ferries to St. Tropez and Monaco from Cannes harbour.
Distances
Cannes centre is just a short walk, one of the markets being just 5 minutes down the road where you will also find a number of small shops, bakers and butchers.
Further details
There are far too many restaurants to mention in Cannes, but they are all within easy walking distance. Our local restaurant just down the road, is a delight especially in the summer out in their wonderful garden. There is something happening all the time in Cannes and surrounding areas. January has the famous shopping festival, February the Mimosa and Citroen Festivals also the famous Nice carnival. March and April - the boat show in Nice, International Show jumping, Masters tennis. May of course the Cannes Film Festival and Monaco Grand Prix. Throughout June, July and August there are music festivals, the famous jazz festivals, firework competitions, etc. September sees the Boat Show and later the classic yacht regatta. October, November various fruit festivals and of course in December the lovely Christmas markets. This is to name but a few!

About the owner
We have a base in Kent where we can be near our three grown up children, but spend most of our time at Villa Ophelia, in Cannes, and because of this we are able to offer our guests a personal service and are only too pleased to help in any way we can. We pride ourselves on trying to be hospital, friendly and helpful.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We love Cannes for all diversity and easy access to so many other areas, the mountains, the wonderful coast line right through to Italy and the many beautiful Medevial villages. The food, restaurants, markets and or course the weather.
Cannes is very easily accessed from the UK with many airports flying to Nice, from where we are about 45 mins drive or bus ride away. You might like to hire a car to fully explore the area but public transport is so good and cheap, it is not always necessary. We had Villa Ophelia 3 years before we bought a car, a euro can get you a long way!

Villa Ophelia is in a quiet residential area so you can escape from the very noisy and busy centre of Cannes, yet just a 10 minute walk will bring you right into the heart of the town, giving you the best of both worlds.
We live at Villa Ophelia, so are able to offer that personl touch. The property has been fully renovated and although Villa Ophelia is old, we have hopefully, made it into a modern comfortable property for guests to enjoy. We provide all linen at no extra cost, all towels for both shower and beach, again at no extra cost. Anything we can provide for you please do just ask and we will do our very best to oblige.
