The building was once part of the castle in Fontiers Cabardes dating to circa 1250. It has been the lodging of Pierre Paul Riquet during his time building the local section of the Canal Du Midi. The gite has been fully restored and includes all of the equipment that you would expect for your holiday. The bedrooms are furnished with antique beds and furniture. The bathrooms are floor to ceiling Italian tiled. TV and Wi-Fi are available in the property at no extra charge, also you may have use of our private courtyard for barbecues in the summer months. All amenities are within 25 meters of the property, these include a shop, post office, Marie and a bar/restaurant which has free live music every other Saturday during the winter and twice weekly during the summer. Car parking is within 5 meters of the gite. A children's play area is on the village green just 10 meters away. The village is high on the Black Mountains with a great deal to visit locally as well as Carcassonne Cite.

Changeover day
Rental periods run from 16.00 hrs Saturday to 10.00 hrs following Saturday. This can be flexible please request on booking.

| Bedrooms: | 2 bedrooms, sleeps maximum of 6 people. Bedroom 1 and 2 each with 1 double bed, 1 single bed. Each room has a double and a single bed all antique and locally sourced. The floors are wooden and renewed, all linen provided. |
| Bathrooms: | Each bedroom has an en-suite bathroom comprising a shower and toilet, fully Italian tiled, the bedrooms have basins and washstands with mirror and lights. Towels provided. |
| Kitchen: | Oven, freezer, fridge, grill, microwave, 4 ring stove, coffee machine, kettle. All cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils provided. |
| Utility Room: | Travel cot and high chair can be provided if requested at time of booking at no extra charge. |

Carcassonne airport and train station 25 minutes, Toulouse airport 75 minutes. Car hire is recommended.

The gite is in the centre of the village. Bar/restaurant 15 metres. Shop 20 metres. Post office 10 metres. Play area 10 metres.
Places of interest: Chateau du Saissac 10km, Chateau du Lastors 8km, Carcassonne Cite 25km, Montolieu (world book village) 8km.
This is only a small selection of what the area has to offer which includes many historical sites as well as many outdoor activities from Horse riding and cycling to vinyards with tasting and cultural events.
Booking notes
Rental rates are based on a one week stay. Prices are guaranteed, when an instalment representing 25% of the total amount has been received. An instalment of 25% is requested on booking. The balance should be paid six (6) weeks before arrival date. A guarantee (deposit) of 250 euros will be required on arrival and refunded on departure if no damages or breakages.
