Welcome to Auradé Farm, an C18th farmhouse in the Gers countryside, with all the modern comforts and traditional charm. Situated amongst gently rolling hills and fields with country walks, ponds and lakes, it has everything you wish for. Pigs, chickens, dogs, birds, cats, along with ping-pong, basketball, trampoline and swimming pool (above ground), make this fascinating and enjoyable for children of all ages. All rooms are ground floor and have modern en-suite bathroom or shower room. Rooms look out onto the front or rear gardens. In this relaxed and informal atmosphere you are sure to have a wonderful and enjoyable time.

Notes on prices
Generous continental breakfast included. Babies from 0 to 2 years free. Cot and high chair available. Children from 3 to 10 years 10 euros sharing room with 2 adults. Pets 3 euros each.
Dinner: Adults 20€, 4 courses, ¼ lt wine and coffee included. Children from 3 to 10 years 10 euros. Half-board (minimum 3 nights) –10%.
Reservation 10€ per night per room or 15 euros for half-board. The reservation fee will be refunded if cancellation is received at least 8 weeks before arrival.

Changeover day
Arrivals after 4:30pm, departures 11:00am. Changeover day is Saturday. Contact us if you need more flexibility.

We have 3 Bed & Breakfast rooms, each with a comfortable double bed and tea/coffee making facilities. One of the rooms also has a single bed.
The gite apartment is completely self contained with it's own entrance, private patio area, twin bedroom and bed settee.

Blue Room (double) 20m2 bedroom. En-suite bathroom with shower over the bath and wc. View over the front garden. Double bed 160 x 200.
Cream Room (double) 22 m2 bedroom. Separate bathroom with spa bath, shower and wc. View over rear garden and fields, ponds and hills beyond. Double bed 140 x 200.
Apartment, T2, 50m2. 2-4 people. Private patio and communal garden. Twin bedroom, 2 single beds 90 x 195. Sitting room with chimney, double bed settee and Sky TV, looking onto terrace. Door to Blue room for 2 additional people. Kitchen with cooker, dishwasher, fridge. Shower room.

 

Notes on accommodation
Children welcomed, additional put-up beds available, cots and high chair available. All rooms have individual electric heaters. The thick walls of this old farmhouse provide natural insulation against summer temperatures. Breakfast table looks out onto the fields.

Accessibility
Most rooms are ground floor and have wide doors for disabled access, although bathrooms have 73cm width. Parking available within 10m of front door.

Gardens with trees, bushes and flowers (lots of shaded areas). Barbecue, patio areas and shaded outside eating areas. Swimming pool (above ground): 7.3 x 3.5m and sun loungers. Table tennis, trampoline, basketball. Various animals. Children’s playhouse, bird and chicken huts.

Atlantic coast 1 1/2 hours away for big waves, Mediterranean cost 1 1/2 hours away. Check the weather forecast to find the best weather for your day at the beach.

1 1/2 hours from the best skiing in the Pyrenees.

About the owner
We are Kerry and David Morgan. We live in this 230 year old goat farm in the Gers with 3 of our children (the other is at University in UK). We have lived in France since 1994 since David took a job with Airbus in Toulouse. We love animals and would have even more if we had the space. We love the outdoor life that the South-West France allows. We love the country-side and the views of the rolling hills in this part of the Gers. We find it most rewarding when visitors tell us how much they enjoyed their stay, that they really liked the rooms, the home-made bread and jams. It is a special compliment when our French guests thank us for the dinner we prepared for them - they know they are difficult to please - and for 'French' coffee.

Why the owner chose a guest house in this location
We bought this house because it is not too far from the International School, David's workplace, Toulouse or a small town with lots of facilities (L'Isle Jourdain), yet it is in a beautiful countryside location in a small village with views of rolling hills and fields and lakes. One of our guests referred to it as 'A little corner of paradise' - and we agree! The farmhouse was very run-down when we bought it, but it promised lots of potential. We spent more money than we should on the renovation work, but now have very flexible accommodation at a high quality. We would have preferred a larger land area, but what we have is a lot of work to maintain and big enough for guests as well as the animals.

Unique benefits of the property
Access: Our property is easy to get to and to find, either by Air, Rail or Road from Toulouse or Carcassonne What we offer: Pet the Pigs! Pinky and Perky, our 'micro-porc gasconne' enjoy being hand-fed and having their bellies rubbed and ears tickled. They graze like mini-rhinos with their bellies swinging from side to side and their tails wagging! We also have ducks, chickens, cats (3 new kittens), dog, chinchilla, parakeet, although the animals change sometimes. We also have a pool, table tennis, badminton, basketball and other games. Within 15 minutes drive we have golf, mini golf, horse riding, fishing, boating, tennis, and many other pastimes. Easy access to many historical sites and on the St Jacques de Compostelle pilgrims trail (see the clam shells in the village).
