This rustic yet tastefully decorated self-catering holiday home features all modern amenities, including a private heated swimming pool, yet is located in the midst of idyllic rural farmlands, just several kilometres from the virtual epicentre of France. The pool and terrace overlook the large pasture behind the house, which slopes away toward the neighbouring meadowlands and boasts mature nut and fruit trees. There are no neighbouring houses adjoining the property, as it is bordered only by pastures and a working farm. Utter peace and tranquillity!

Changeover day
Summer bookings are by the week from Saturday to Saturday. You may check in after 4pm on your arrival day. Checkout is by 10am your departure day. If you require an earlier arrival or later checkout time, please contact us.
| Bedrooms: | Bedrooms 1 and 2 with double bed and en-suite. Bedroom 3 with double bed. Bedroom 4 with twin beds and single bed. Bedroom 5 with 2 x single beds (ideal for kids). The private solarium can sleep another 2 people comfortably. |
| Bathrooms: | En-suite shower rooms to bedrooms 1 and 2 with shower, basin and WC. Master bathroom with double basins, WC, shower and bath. Separate WC off the pantry. |
| Kitchen: | Modern Godin cooker burning propane gas and featuring a spacious grill and electric oven, microwave, new roomy refrigerator, and a dishwasher (we even supply the detergent!) There's a second electric cooker and oven as well, and a table seating 12! |
| Utility Room: | Whirlpool washer and dryer (though there is also a clothesline in the pool area), a large separate freezer (helps to cut down on those grocery runs!), and a large tank-type water heater... plenty for numerous hot showers. There’s also a separate WC here. |
| Living Rooms: | Lounge has a wood-burning stove and a full-service entertainment centre (CD/DVD player and wide-screen TV with satellite English-language programming (Sky). The lounge opens up to the solarium, which features a double sofa bed and gives on the terrace. |

Notes on accommodation
The house is ideal for large extended family vacations or for several families vacationing together. We are very family- and child-friendly, with a good supply of recreational facilities, toys, games, tricycles, children’s' bikes, etc. The pool area is also well secured to prevent little ones from wandering in unattended. We have Sky TV with a movie package as well as lots of cartoon channels to keep the little ones occupied early in the morning (!) so Mum and Dad can sleep in. The kitchen is very well equipped and enormous, with a table that comfortably sits 12 people, and there are two large picnic tables on the terrace for eating outside. The hamlet is very small (5 houses) and we are the only one on our side of the road, so no immediate neighbours. There are two small barns on the property and an old separate bread oven that now serves as our pool house. There are several swings (one even the grown-ups will love) and a lovely big barbecue. The ideal spot for a relaxing holiday!
Accessibility
We are not specially outfitted for wheelchairs, but we have had several visitors in wheelchairs who have found the house readily accessible. There are 2 steps up from the driveway to the terrace and another 2 steps into the house. There is a downstairs double bedroom with en-suite shower room and the kitchen, hallway, bedroom, lounge and solarium are all on the same level. With advance warning, the local pharmacy is even happy to loan a wheelchair at no charge! Aren't small towns great?
Outside
The pool is 9x14.5m, private and heated. The pool area is enclosed and has a gate with a spring-lock mechanism so that small ones can't wander in unobserved. There are five comfortable recliners and half a dozen plastic deck chairs for use around the pool or on the terrace. The large teak picnic table seats 12 and has a huge parasol for sunny days, and there is a second table that seats another six people if necessary. We have a large barbecue grill and also a ping-pong table on the terrace. Below the terrace, a large mowed pasture slopes away from the house - so there's lots of room to run around a play.
Coast/Beach
There is a beautiful man-made lake at Sidialles, about 14km from the house. There is a beautiful sandy beach with supervised swimming and a gracious grassy knoll for sunbathing and picnicking. The lake has a restaurant and snack bar and there are reasonably priced rentals of everything from pedal boats to small sailboats, canoes and kayaks. If you can pull yourself away from the pool, this is a lovely alternative.
Travel
We're not far from either of two regional airports: Limoges (which services flights by discount airlines Ryan Air!) is just 1 hour and 50 minutes by car and the airport at Clermont-Ferrand is just about an hour and forty-five minutes away. We are also readily accessible from two major French airports: Paris/Orly is 2½-3 hours away by car, as is the Lyon airport. By train, you can travel either to Montluçon (45 minutes away by car) or Châteauroux, just over an hour from Le Jubeau.

Nature lovers will find lovely trails, woods, the Indre and Cher rivers and some fine geological and volcanic parks. For you riders.
There's a variety of stables nearby and several good tennis and golf facilities are also within easy reach. Wine lovers can visit the nearby wineries around Châteaumeillant that are known especially for their pleasant rosés.
Booking notes
A non-refundable booking deposit of 25% of your full rental fee is required to secure your booking. The balance of your rental must be received no later than 42 days prior to the first day of the rental period. In case of late bookings (i.e. less than 42 days in advance), the full rental amount is required as soon as we receive the booking form and contact you with payment details. We require a security deposit of 150 euros, refunded if the house is left clean and there are no breakages.
