This lovingly restored farmhouse is over 200 years old and is well equipped to provide a restful and relaxing holiday. The Dordogne is an area overflowing with history, heritage and picturesque villages and is renowned for its markets, food and wine. There is something to suit everyone whatever their age or interests. The nearby village of Limeuil is in a picturesque setting at the point where the river Vezere meets the river Dordogne. Although small the village is equipped with a bar (which looks out across the rivers), a fine pizza restaurant great for kids and 2 restaurants serving authentic local dishes. There is a baker and a post office and in the summer there is a market on Sunday mornings selling local produce. A steep walk from the port of Limeuil takes you into the old town past local art and craft shops to the top where the chateau stands in its newly restored grounds with fantastic views across the Dordogne Valley.

Changeover day
The changeover day is Saturday to Saturday but we do try and be flexible so if you would like a different day please just ask ! Arrival is 4pm or after Departure by 10am
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with double bed. Bedroom 2 with twin beds. Mezzanine with single bed available if needed. |
| Bathrooms: | Spacious family sized bathroom with bath/shower. |
| Kitchen: | The kitchen is well equipped and has a fridge/freezer, washing machine, microwave, gas cooker and a dishwasher. Wood burning stove for heating in the cooler months. |
| Living Rooms: | Living room with a large original fireplace now with wood burning stove (making it warm and cosy in the winter). There is a TV/video/DVD player, satellite freeview and a CD stereo. The room is furnished with authentic Perigordian pieces. |
| Other: | There is free wifi which can be accessed while in the tobacco barn (which has a power point) or sitting outside of the cottage. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
All linen and towels including pool towels are provided FREE, spare linen is provided for those staying longer than 1 week. |
Notes on accommodation
The cottage is well equipped for family holidays, there are games books and DVDs inside the cottage.
Kevin and Charlotte live alongside the property with their 3 children and 3 dogs and are always on hand to help whenever they can.

Accessibility
Although the cottage has a downstairs bedroom the bathroom is on the first floor so perhaps may not be suitable for people with mobility problems.
Outside
Outside there is a seating area directly in front of the cottage but also the converted tobacco barn just across the courtyard which guests are welcome to make full use of. The are swings, table tennis and a 14ft trampoline surrounded by a safety net. The swimming pool is 4.5 metre by 9.5 metres and is fully fenced with a locked gate making it safe for younger children. Although the family who live along side the cottage use the pool guests always have priority use.
Coast/Beach
If you fancy a day trip to the coast beaches such as Archachon and and the fantastic Dune de Pyla are two and a half hours away.
Golf
Both Kevin and Charlotte are very keen golfers so can happily direct you to local courses and can reserve tee times for you in advance.
We are lucky to have 2 very good course Lolivarie (Siorac) and Marterie (just outside Le Bugue) only 15 minutes away.
Beautiful courses such as Chateau Vigiers and Villeneuve sur Lot are less than an hour away.
Travel
Our nearest airport is Bergerac which is about 45 minutes away.
We are located in the countryside so a car for exploring is essential.
Distances
The beautiful village of Limeuil is just 3km away, and we are only 5 minutes by car from the town of Le Bugue which will meet all your supermarket needs and also has a large busy market on a Tuesday.
The town of Les Eyzies is only 20 minutes there are local grottoes and caves only 5 minutes away and Limeuil is perfect if you wish to discover the Dordogne by canoe there are two businesses based in the village who will take you and canoe up river so you can float back at your leisure.
Further details
There are some good local restaurants which Kevin and Charlotte will be glad to make reservations for you if you wish, there are two good family pizza restaurants within 5 minutes of the cottage and the cottage has lots of leaflets and brochures full of ideas for days out.
