Notes on accommodation
The house has been restored to a superb standard, it has exposed beams and traditional Normandy stone. There is a wood burner (wood available) and a huge open fire in the kitchen/dining room. The house has been refurbished (Spring 2009) with a newly fitted kitchen and well equipped games room. There is a professional pool table and table football. It has been decorated throughout. It is ideal for families or couples.

Outside
There is a large garden and adjoining fields to roam, with views of the Normandy countryside. There is a BBQ and garden furniture.
Coast/Beach
Being in the middle of the Cotentin Peninsula there are a variety of beaches to choose from, from any one of the 3 neighbouring coastlines. Popular for sun, sand and surf is the west coast with glamorous Carteret, in contrast the east coast is a treasure trove for historians with the humbling historic D-Day landing beaches and many fortifications, and children will enjoy the abundance of shell covered beaches. To the north is the beautiful Val de Saire with its lighthouses and rockpools.
Golf
There are 3 golf courses close by. A 9-hole in Brix, an 18 hole in Omaha and a 9-hole in St Germain. These are within a 30 minute drive.
Travel
30 minutes drive from Cherbourg or 60 minutes from Caen. Use of a car is essential.
Distances
Bricquebec is the nearest town only 5 minutes away, Valognes is about 20 minutes away. The East coast is 25 minutes away, the West coast 20 minutes away, the North coast is 30 minutes away. Bayeaux is 60 minutes away and Mont st Michelle 2 hours away.
Further details
Bricquebec has many restaurants to choose from, Le Vieux Chateau is excellent. Barneville Cateret also has top quality restaurants, Le Hermitage serves traditional French food at very reasonable prices and Hotel des Ormes has a fantastic restaurant which is a must for a special occasion. Other local restaurants include Le Bocage in Negreville and there is an auberge in the village for more local dining.
