Les Greniers is a converted stable and apple press, with an abundance of exposed beams, in the heart of rural Normandy. With a welcoming log fire, large well appointed kitchen, and double French doors opening on to a large patio, it offers a rural retreat with comfort and style. The large enclosed garden is well stocked with trees, and the quiet road has only occasional vehicles, and the odd passing tractor. The local village which is 2 miles away has all amenities including an excellent baker, butcher, grocer and two small cafes. There are several local restaurants, and the town of L'Aigle 25 mins away has one of the largest weekly open air markets in France. The quiet country roads are ideal for walking and cycling, and horse riding is available locally at the equestrian centre. An opportunity to experience traditional rural France...

Nearby are the historic remains of a 13th Century Abbey, and a chateau. Horse riding is available in the equestrian school, and there are local tennis courts within easy reach. L'Aigle has supermarkets, restaurants, an indoor swimming pool, and a wide variety of shops. The weekly open air market is one of the largest in the country, offering a wide variety of fresh local produce including shellfish, poultry, meat, and cheeses in addition to a variety of other goods.
Camembert cheese originates from the region, and a museum dedicated to the nun who created it can be visited in the village of Camembert. There is a VTT site for mountain biking in nearby Gace, and further afield the Foret Domaniale des Andaines above Bagnoles de L’Orne, and the Foret Domaniale Des Ecouves above Alencon offer a variety of marked routes. There is a centre for kayaking and canoeing in the area. Paris can be reached for a day trip by either train or car. "Wanted to say what a lovely week we had in your French home. It is a wonderful place - so quiet and tranquil but very well equipped and close enough to nearby amenities. I don't think photos can do it justice. We followed your example and most of our cycling was around the local roads exploring the other villages and buying our daily bread!" Deidre McLean
"A wonderful haven and provided a greatly needed break from our busy family/ work routines of every day life! Before going the pictures and photographs of the cottage looked very welcoming but I still wasn't prepared for just how lovely your cottage was. The private gardens were fantastic for sitting, relaxing and enjoying meal times. I soaked up the views from the upper windows across trees and fields. It was great to be able to use the bikes to explore the local lanes and visit the ruined abbey." David Lewis
