'Le Marais' is a fantastic holiday home located in the heart of the Dordogne and is ideally situated in order for guests to take advantage of the local restaurants, vineyards and stunning Dordogne scenery. The stunning beaches on the Atlantic are only an hours drive away and the delights of St Emillion and Bergerac are within 30 mins drive. The house is large and spacious inside and has large informal gardens perfect for ball games etc. A great house for family holidays. Bergerac Airport is only 20 mins away from Le Marais. Ryanair, Easyjet and Flybe all offer discounted flights to Bergerac from lots of UK airports, including London Gatwick, London Stansted, Luton, Southampton, Bristol and Liverpool.

Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday, although this is flexible. Tenants depart before 10am and arrive after 4pm.

The fantastic Atlantic beaches are a 1.5 hours drive away. Biscarosse and Archachon offer beautiful, wide sandy beaches and a host of watersport activities including surfing, sailing and windsurfing.

The local golf course is the stunning Chateau Les Vigiers - 20 minute drive away.
Travel
Nearest airport is Bergerac, a 20 minute drive away from the house. Car hire is available from this airport and is advisable. For those who want to drive, Calais is an 8 hour drive.

Booking notes
Upon confirmation of booking a 50% deposit is payable. Full payment is due 8 weeks before arrival. A £250/week returnable deposit is paid and returned upon inspection of property after tenants departure. In high season the minimum booking period is 2 weeks.

About the owner
My family bought Le Marais 15 years ago and have successfully rented it out ever since.
My father is a very keen DIY type and, thankfully, is also very good at it! He advised local artisans and project managed the redevelopment of the property from start to finish.
When my parents saw Le Marais for the first time, 'rustic', is a very good way to describe it....cows where still resident in the barn!!
Over 18 months the house was faithfully restored to its current glorious state.
As a family, we used to go to Le Marais 3 times a year. It is perfect for family holidays, big enough for everyone to have enough space, the pool is amazing and the surrounding countryside is beautiful (not to mention the food and wine).

The Dordogne area is stunning. It is easy to get to from the UK and once you are there, it is a very relaxing place to spend a couple of weeks.
The local food and wine is delicious and was a large part of the reason to buy in this area.
Unique benefits of the property
With the increasing number of flights to local airports, one can be at Le Marais in under 2 hours from a UK airport.
The house is very large and can comfortably accommodate up to 11 guests.
The gardens are perfect for family holidays, large enough to kick a ball around whilst also having a few 'quiet' spots for one to escape to should the need arise...!!! The pool is one of the main selling factors of the house - it is enormous (12mx6m) and is great for games, young ones learning to swim and perfect for floating around on a lilo. It is for these, and many other reasons, that we enjoy a successful return business - averaging 50%/year. Some of our tenants have holidayed in Le Marais over 5 times!!
