Le Cul de Chaudron is a delightful character cottage, dating back to the 18th century, situated in the peaceful tiny hamlet of Ste Croix sur Orne, in southern Normandy, on the edge of the famous Suisse Normande holiday area. Close by is the Lac de Rabodanges, with water sport facilities, tennis and boule courts, etc, plus restaurant and bar. Less than an hour from the coast, and within easy reach of the invasion beaches and a host of historic towns (Falaise – William the Conqueror’s birthplace – is 15 mins drive), Ste Croix is a perfect base for touring Normandy. Mind, you might not be keen to leave the cottage's garden!

Calais 3.5 hours. Ouistreham (Caen) 50 mins. Dinard airport 2 hours.

A wonderful week of peace and quiet. The cottage is perfect and charming - very well appointed and maintained. We travel extensively, and usually prefer to experience new places - but this is one we hope to return to!
