Just 10 minutes drive from the historic market town Fontenay Le Comte and similarly close to Le Marais de Poitevin. Local vineyards and the famous Mervent forest just a 15 drive, make Velluire a perfect location to many local attractions.

Completely enclosed garden, safe for children of all ages.
Outside
Spacious lawned garden with large patio area. Barbecue, patio table and chairs. A small selection of fishing rods and equipment can also be found in the garage.
Coast/Beach
La Rochelle approximately 20 minutes drive - famous harbour town, seafood restaurants and a great aquarium.
Ile De Re, short drive from La Rochelle over the impressive suspension bridge this beautiful island is a fabulous day out. Most people cycle round the island.
La Chateillion Plage - approximately 30 minute drive.
West Coast Beaches - lots of beaches like La Tranche Sur Mer, La Faut Sur mer, La Griere, approximately 1 hours drive seaside resorts and family attractions.
Travel
Local airports 1hr or less - La Rochelle, Nantes, Poitiers
(Ryanair usually the cheapest).
Ports (driving) - Cherbourg 5 hours, Caen 4 hours, San Malo 3 hours (discounts can be given if using Brittany Ferries).

My husband and I live in beautiful Warwickshire with our 2 children soon to be 3 and love visiting France for our annual holidays. We chose our cottage in Velluire because we loved the friendliness of the village and the fact that the garden is safe for our children. We use the cottage as a base and usually go exploring each day finding new beaches and places of outstanding beauty like Mervent Forest. A great place to explore a great country!
