The property is a converted barn with lots of original features. We have a lovely large lounge with Sky TV, and a lovely sun-room that looks over the pool and countryside. We serve a lovely continental breakfast every day, serving fresh eggs from our hens... we are our own little hamlet and the house overlooks countryside on all sides. We have lots of sun-loungers and hammocks, for those hot lazy days, ping pong, trampoline, badminton, croquet, swing-ball, for the more agile. We do a 3 night special for 2 people, dinner bed and breakfast 220 euros, perfect for those who are house hunting, this is for 3 courses including wine, served outside weather permitting, overlooking the floodlit pool we light candles and lanterns, making it feel really special. We have ample parking. There are lots of walks all around us and the towns of Niort, Poitiers, Angouleme and Ruffec are all within 45 minutes drive.

Changeover day
You can arrive any time after 1pm and must vacate your room by 11am on day of departure.

Accommodation

Chatenet (B&B Sleeps 7/8)

There are 2 double rooms, en-suite with modern showers.
Family room with a double bed and single bed, this room has a massage 2 person shower.
We have two extra single beds and cots available on request.
The large is large with a corner suite, large flat screen TV with English Sky, stereo, DVD player and bookcases.
Open plan kitchen, where the meals are prepared.
The dining room is lovely, with French doors that open onto the pool, breakfast and meals can be served al-fresco on request.
There is plenty of outside space with tabels and chairs on the terrace, all overlooking the pool, and orchard.

Notes on accommodation
The house is fully centrally heated with wood burning stoves. The area teams with wildlife, the birdlife is amazing, we provide binoculars and a spotting scope. There is lots for children to do, and lots of places to go to in the area, we can provide all the information you need. Pets welcome.

Outside
The swimming pool is 12x6m and saltwater, there is plenty of sun-loungers, and we provide hammocks throughout the orchard. Lots of outside space with tables and chairs on the terraces and around the pool.

Coast/Beach
It is an hour and quarter drive to La Rrochelle, Ile de re, Chatillion Plage. There are plenty of lakes with beaches within an hours drive.

Travel
We are 45km from Poitiers airport, and an hour and a quarter from La Rochelles airport, Limoges is an hour and a half drive. We are 5 hours drive from Le Havre, Caen or St Malo and 8 hours from Calais.

Distances
We are 1 mile from the town of Sauze Vaussais, 8 miles from Ruffec. Futurescope and Poitiers is only 45 minutes away. Valley de singe is half an hours drive. Niort, Angouleme 50 minutes drive, Bordeaux is 2 hours. Spain 5 hours.

Further details
There is banks, supermarkets, bars restaurants, hairdressers etc in Sauze Vaussais. There are lots of nice restaurants in the area, we can direct you when you arrive, we can make reservations etc. We have lots of leaflets on places of interests and local leisure activities, from Brocantes to golf.

Full address and telephone numbers required at time of booking. For stays over 5 days we require a deposit of 20% for under 5 days no payment required, just payment in euros at the end of your stay.
