Guest comments
Thanks for sharing your lovely home in Ivry with us. It could not have been nicer. The kitchen was perfectly equipped, and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. We especially enjoyed sitting by the wood-burning stove and the beautiful fireplace and reading.Ivry is such a practical base to explore the lovely surrounding area - the charming town of Beaune, the vineyards and nearby chateaux. We hope to return soon and would recommend Les Vignes to anyone wanting to discover this beautiful and interesting part of Burgundy. Susi.

Now back home and trying to get back into some sort of routine after a great time in France.Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our week in Les Vignes what a lovely gite, so well appointed. Phil&Chris

We had a lovely holiday in Ivry in September. There is a well marked cycle route commencing in Pommard that interweaves throughout the Cote D'or which we would recommend to everyone. Also the green route along the canal from Chagny to Chalon. Regards Bob

About the owner
We live and run our own consultancy in Scotland but love to spend as much time as possible in France and look forward to taking even more time out when we retire. We bring our family and friends together in our 'home from home', as our daughter and her partner live in France and our son and daughter-in-law love to visit there. We're already making great friends with our neighbours in the village too.

Year purchased: 2007

Why the owner chose a home in this location
This really is the heart of France where so many famous wines and foods come from. The area is a wonderful blend of diverse landscapes, heritage and culture and it is so accessible via the autoroutes and airports.

Unique benefits of the property
Located on the edge of a small village we feel part of a real community. Yet we can wander out for walks down country lanes into woodlands and villages, cycle, jump in the car to visit beautiful towns, chateaux, vineyards, pre-historic sites, the Morvan Regional Park. Even nip into beautiful, historic Beaune and Nolay to indulge ourselves at the markets or in some of the area's fantastic restaurants. We can offer some very good recommendations. If we simply want to BBQ, our terrace overlooking the chateau offers the perfect dining location and in the Spring we can listen to Nightingale song under the stars right up to midnight and beyond. Just as enjoyable are the rural morning sounds of cattle and cockerels.
