The two farms originate from the 18th century and were restored 8 years ago. Providing comfortable accommodation from which to explore this exciting region. Both the houses have generous living space and have retained many original features. They are light and south facing with sunny gardens. The two houses are detached stone farmhouses and are in an offset position i.e. below one another and not overlooking each other having their own private gardens/entrances and BBQ areas. Brehec Beach and Port Footpath from house to Brehec beach and Port. This 2.5k path takes around 35 mins mainly because the first part is narrow and a bit on the wild side! It soon joins the main forestry trail in lovely deciduous forest. Boulangeries, banks, supermarket etc only 3km at Plouezec, a pretty village with the La Horaine restaurant! A real bonus is to have Paimpol close (8 mins) with its portside cafes and restaurants, headland walks, Latin Quarter, summer festivals, etc! So much to do and see!

Notes on accommodation
CH can be ordered for Old Farm but there are electric heaters. Details are on owners site re free allowances etc. The two log burners can give out a good heat. Though we do try to leave off cuts for off season tenants, wood can be purchased in supermarkets locally. The houses are good for children as the gardens are private and gated and lead onto a quiet lane with no more than a half dozen cars passing daily. It is in fact a no through road. Old Farm has the option of the French windows/doors being the main door as the terrace has a gate to the little road and parking area. The Granary has a gate entrance from the footpath at the back of it. Both properties have microwaves, electric kettles, coffee makers, toasters and etc! Only Old Farm has a dishwasher though extra facilities are always under review.
Accessibility
There is a wheelchair ramp down from the car parking area to Old Farm but all bedrooms, are on the first floor as are the toilets and shower rooms.
Outside
Both have private gardens and entrance paths.Opposite the rear of Old Farm is its creche - useful for bike storage but also serves as the laundry room. The Granary has also got an outdoors storage area as can be seen in photos. This now benefits from a lockable door!
Both have BBQs and ample garden furniture. Old Farm has new hardwood garden furniture( resourced from renewable sources!).
Coast/Beach
Brehec is the nearest beach and is 5 mins drive. There are two restaurants, great sandy level beaches, cliff walks along the GR34, sea sports centre etc. The path down to Brehec village and beach is straight below the house but for the first 10 mins it is a little steep, and a bit wild. Thereafter it is in glorious deep forest on a good forest trail!
Within 10 mins are the unspoilt beaches of Plage Bonaparte and Le Palus or the chic resorts of St Quay and Binic. The Iles de Brehat are glorious!
Golf
Several courses nearby. One 18 hole all year course near Binic (20 mins) and one near Paimpol.
Travel
The nearest ports are Roscoff from Plymouth and St Malo from Portsmouth - details on owners site.It takes about 90 mins driving from these ports.
Best airports are Brest,Dinard and Rennes. One can rent cars from these and a car is necessary to explore.
If one was without a car the only way would be via Guingamp and Paimpol on the SCNF and local Ter bus or taxi for the last section! There is a bustop on the coastal raod about 5 mins walk from the houses.

Chris, we had a great week at the Granary . The weather was hot and sunny, the beaches, especially Brehec, excellent and good for swimming. We did some of your walks and enjoyed them. It is a beautiful area and we are considering going back for 2 weeks next year.

Owner profile
About the owner
We fell in love with Brittany on a visit made in 1992 when visiting the nearby Pink Granite Coast. We then decided to buy an old farmhouse. The local people are very friendly and some of these have become our caretakers. Above all I enjoy exploring this area in greater depth to pass on old and newly discovered local treasures to our guests so that they get the most out of their holiday. I have prepared detailed Out and About sheets for car tours and those who like walking. As a keen walker, I love the solitude of the forest footpaths along the local river valleys and sea estuaries. There are many nearby cliff footpaths offering superb views of the Goelo Coast e.g.The GR 34 coastpath. Our houses are well situated for touring and exploring the area.
Why the owner chose a home in this location
Brehec (3kms)and the Goëlo coastline has always been one of my favourite places. It has everything that one wants close at hand :small towns such as Plouzec(3kms) with tempting boulangeries and all local services;bustling ports like Paimpol (8 mins) with medieval centres and cafe life overlooking the yacht basin; empty golden beaches and coves 5- 15 mins ; small ports and lively restaurants - St Quay and Binic -all linked by the magical GR34 cliff footpath! So when I saw the Old Farm and Granary in 2001 in need of TLC I knew it had to be a good idea. The local villagers were delighted to have the houses renovated and are a friendly bunch! Being in a small hamlet without being on a through road is peaceful. There is even a footpath down to Brehec albeit a bit overgrown for the first 10 mins!
Unique benefits of the property
These two farms have been fully renovated but still have lots of character and the grounds between them have been landscaped and hedged offering a good level of privacy. Both have private entrances and a common parking area. The Granary has no road frontage but has an entrance from the lane/footpath. It also has a loading entrance gate from the communal parking area. The gardens are in sun all day so just come and relax!
Being on a large loop road off the coastal road means that there is no through traffic - only about 5 cars a day of the neighbours and postman! The houses rear gardens blend in with the coastal forest below whilst remaining in full sun all day. Thus there is the tranquility of a rural setting yet only minutes are lovely ports, restaurants, beaches and coast paths!
