Situated in the beautiful Limousin countryside, just 3km from the Dordogne border. Located within 1 acre of enclosed grounds. Lovely shared swimming pool area and individual terraces. We are ideally situated for exploring the charming villages of the region many with beautiful chateaux and churches. Although relatively rural, we are close to a local town, and only 35 minutes drive from the city of Limoges. Most activities can be found within an hour’s drive. There are plenty of opportunities for bird-watching (often in our own grounds!), fishing, cycling and walking locally.

Changeover day
Preferred changeover day is Saturday, although we are fairly flexible, so please do contact us to discuss if you have an alternative day in mind. Arrival time 4pm, departure time 10am.

Notes on accommodation
Stable gite is ideal for a couple but also suitable for two adults and one child. Lovely enclosed patio area. Stable gite has a wood-burning stove, making it ideal for an 'out of season' break
Outside
One acre enclosed grounds with beautiful unrestricted views to the local village of Le Chalard. Direct access from our property to surrounding countryside, with plenty of easy walks locally, where you can often see wildlife such as deer, badgers, numerous species of birds, including birds of prey, owls. Each gite has it's own patio, with furniture and barbecue.
Shared facilities include lovely in-ground pool with roman steps (approx 11x4m) with pool-side furniture and a covered pergola where you can sit and enjoy the views. For young children we have a baby paddling pool and sand-pit. For older children (and adults !) there is a badminton net with rackets, and plenty of space for ball games etc.
Coast/Beach
Limousin is a region rich in lakes, many of them catering for swimmers, as well as other water sports. Our nearest lake with beach is 3km away, but we really are spoilt for choice here, and there are a further two leisure lakes within a 15 minute drive.
Travel
Located just 35 minutes drive from Limoges airport and approximately 5-7 hours driving time from channel ports. Use of car is essential.
Distances
Just 35 minutes from Limoges, and with many places of interest situated within a 1 hour drive. We are located 2 km from Le Chalard on the historic route of Richard the Lionheart, and once famous for it’s gold mining activities. Segur-le-Château, classified as one of the most beautiful villages of France is a 20 minute drive, as is Jumilhac-Le-Grand, a great place to sit in the square and enjoy a coffee or glass of wine whilst admiring the fantastic 12th Century fairy-tale Château.
Further details
Our local town, St Yrieix La Perche, is a 10 minute drive and has a variety of large supermarkets, banks, bakers, cinema etc. There is also a new water leisure centre with water slides etc, ideal for the odd rainy day or for guests who are coming out of season. St Yrieix is said to be the site where kaolin (the base ingredient for porcelain) was discovered and you can find porcelain outlets and a very nice porcelain museum.
Booking notes
Your booking will be confirmed on receipt of a 25% deposit, with the balance payable 8 weeks prior to your arrival date. A refundable deposit of £100 (to cover breakages or abnormal cleaning requirements) is payable at the time of making the final payment.
