Le Mas La Couloumine is an ancient stone-built Catalan farmhouse. We offer self-catering rental on a weekly basis (Saturday to Saturday) but in low season shorter bookings are possible. Surrounded by peach orchards sitting within the heart of the plain of Roussillon, the mas has wonderful views in all directions. To the north the peak of the Forca Real and the Corbières can be seen and to the south and west rise the chateau of Corbere looks down on us as well as the Canigou Mountain. But despite being a haven of peace and tranquillity the mas is far from isolated. Getting to Ille-sur-Tet the nearest village, with banks, shops, bars and a supermarket is just a 5 minute drive. The bustling centre of Perpignan is only a further 20 minutes away, the Mediterranean beaches can be reached in around 30 minutes and the Pyrenees mountains some 40 minutes away.

Changeover day
In the high season (July & August) changeover day is Saturday. For other months we are flexible. Arrival time 16h00 at the earliest, departure 10h00 at the latest.

Notes on accommodation
Each cottage has electric wall mounted radiators each boast a wood burning stove with fuel supplied in the winter months.
All charges are included in the price. This includes electricity, water and gas usage and in the winter months we supply solid fuel for the wood burning stoves. Also provided is bed linen and towels at no extra charge.

Outside
Communal garden. A dedicated parking place is provided which is suitable for a large family car or 4x4. Lawned communal garden with established flower beds and large oak tree. Private Terrace (La Petite Villa 100m2, The Cottage 70m2). BBQ with outdoor dining table. 4.1m Diameter above ground wooden swimming pool (each property has its own swimming pool).
Outdoor furniture: The terrace area has wood panel fencing 1.8m high to offer complete privacy.

Coast/Beach
Beaches: Canet plage, 30 minutes drive. Argeles-sur-mer, 40 minutes drive. Collioure, 45 minutes drive.

Golf
Nearest Golf Course is Saint Cyprien and is around 40 minutes drive from La Couloumine.

Travel
Perpignan Airport, 20 minutes drive. Girona Airport, 1.5 hours drive. Use of a car is recommended.

Distances
Nearest Village is Corbere (2 minutes drive) which has a small bakery, a pizzeria and a fantastic grill restaurant. Ille-sur Tet is the nearest town (5 minutes drive) and has two supermarkets, artisan bakeries, butchers and fishmongers. It has has several good restaurants. A little further is Thuir (10 minutes drive) which has lots of small boutiques and a fantastic Saturday morning market.

At the coast:

Pyrenees mountains:
Guided walks, the Canigou mountain, historical sites such as Villefrance-de-Conflent and Fort Liberia, the famous “little yellow train”

Perpignan:
The old historic town with its shops and restaurants, Catalan Dragons rugby xiii & usap rugby xv.

Booking notes
We charge a breakage deposit of 500 Euros. This will be returned to you within two weeks after your departure minus any deductions for major breakages only
Payment Terms are:
30% deposit on booking (booking confirmed upon receipt of deposit and signed rental agreement form)
70% final balance + breakage deposit payable 6 weeks before arrival. For low and out of summer season bookings, please contact the owners as our payment terms are less rigid.
