Many good restaurants the best being 'Le restaurant du Chateau' at Chalais which can be found in the Michelin guide quality for the price is incredibly cheap. At Bardenac near Chalais, you can find a super restaurant for weekday lunch, seven courses with wine included for 12.50 euros. At Chalais, supermarkets and banks close by.
Monday morning a lovely market at Chalais, everything that you could want. Friday morning interesting market at Riberac with stalls for foie gras and many other things.
