Changeover day
Changeover day is normally Saturday during the high season but can be flexible according to availability. We would ask our guests to depart by 11am in order to allow cleaning for new arrivals whom we would welcome after 4pm.
| Bedrooms: | Bedroom 1 with double bed and en suite bathroom. Bedroom 2 with double bed. French windows onto upstairs terrace. Bedroom 3 has raised mezzanine bed and single bed. Leads onto upstairs terrace. Bedroom 4 is downstairs and has a sofa bed and day bed. |
| Bathrooms: | The upstairs bathroom is an en-suite for bedroom 1. It has a corner bath, basin and wc. The ground floor bathroom has a power shower, basin and wc. |
| Kitchen: | The large dining kitchen is tastefully decorated in the style of a traditional French farmhouse. It has a gas cooker, dishwasher, a microwave, kettle, toaster and everything you need is provided. Next door the walk-in larder has a large fridge freezer. |
| Utility Room: | The utility room has a washing machine, ironing board, drying rack and iron as well as a Belfast sink. |
| Living Rooms: | Downstairs there is a large airy living room with exposed beams and a wood burning stove. This has a chaise longue sofa as well as 2 two seater leather sofas. There is satellite (Sky) TV , a DVD player and a video recorder. |
| Other: | There is also a second lounge which can also be used as a fourth bedroom or games room. This has a double sofa bed and another armchair. There are shelves full of books, DVDs and videos and a large chest which contains a selection of board games. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
Bed linen and bathroom towels are provided. The property is thoroughly cleaned at the end of each visit. A cot and high chair are also provided. |

Accessibility
The house has a downstairs bedroom and bathroom.
Outside
There are large gardens to 3 sides of the house as well as the first floor terrace. At the front of the house there is a shady terraced seating area with a large teak table and chairs as well as a selection of steamer-style sun-loungers and a barbecue. The garden has been landscaped with mature trees and flower beds. To the side and rear of the house there are large lawns and behind the house there is a large plunge pool with ladders. All the gardens have uninterrupted views of the countryside. There are also a range of outdoor games including boules and badminton nets and rackets.
Coast/Beach
Chaillac the nearest small town is approx 5km away and has a large supervised swimming lake with beach, toboggan slide, children’s play ground, pedalos, horse riding, bar and snack bar.
The house is located in the Brenne national park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. There is lots to do for the whole family, with further swimming lakes nearby at Eguzon and Bélabre, At Eguzon there are also a range of water sports including canoing, water skiing and windsurfing.
Travel
A 50 minute drive north of Limoges airport, Bellegarde where Ryan Air fly to London Stansted, Liverpool and East Midlands airports. From March they will also fly from Leeds Bradford airport. There is also a car hire service available at Limoges Airport. You can also reach Limoges by train on one of the 12 daily connections from Paris.
Distances
Chaillac the nearest small town is approx 5km away and has a 3 restaurants as well as a range of small shops and bars. St Benoit du Sault a medieval walled town (named as one of the most beautiful in France) is 15 minutes away and you can discover a range of antique shops and restaurants by walking around the narrow cobbled streets of the old part of town or take a walk by the beautiful river which circles the town. From here you can visit the chateaux of the Loire or the lakes of the Limousin.
Booking notes
To book first check availability and then from your phone/e-mail request we will send you a booking form with our terms and conditions. On receipt of a completed booking form, a 20% deposit is required within 7 days. The final payment is to be made no later than 6 wks prior to your visit. A £150 refundable deposit is also required to cover any breakages or damages and this can be paid by cheque.

About the owner
We bought the house 5 years ago whilst holidaying in the area. The location was lovely and the view from the upstairs terrace was so stunning that we couldn't resist it. As we are teachers in the UK we get to spend lots of time there during the school holidays and our friends and family also love it. The house is almost always full from April to September. We've rented it out for a few weeks each year and many of our tenants have returned the following year.
