Situated in a small hamlet of 12 houses, in sunflower country. The gite is a renovated farmer's cottage which has been modernised to a high standard. A 5 minute walk to the village with its bar and tabac and a 5 minute drive to Villefagnan with all amenities. The larger town of Ruffec is a 10 minute drive. The owners are on site in their own home and welcome you to share their lovely garden with their small friendly dog. The area, the second sunniest in France, is a haven of wildlife and rural walking and cycling are on the doorstep. There are many things to see and do. Canoeing and kayaking on the river Charente and many lovely old villages with superb restaurants.

Minimum stay, 7 nights. Shorter lets available by arrangement. Discounts available for stays of more than 2 weeks or for booking within 7 days of arrival.

Notes on accommodation
Heating available at extra charge. Free WiFi internet access. Bicycles available for hire. Children are welcome as long as they don't pull the dog's tail! There is no washing machine in the gite but we can do a service wash for you.
Accessibility
No special wheelchair access, but if stairs are a problem, downstairs facilities are available (bed settee, shower room).

A 25% deposit (non returnable) is required on booking. Balance due on arrival. Payment in euros or sterling. Prices include linen and towels changed weekly, hot water and bottled gas for cooking. A welcome pack of basic foodstuffs and other items is supplied. An extra charge will be made for heating if required.

About the owner
We retired early to France in September 2007 with our 12 year old Jack Russell cross, Poppy. All 3 of us are extremely happy to be here and love our lifestyle and the French people. We have made many friends since we arrived, both French and English and love meeting new people when they rent our gite. We especially love having escaped the traffic and the hurly burly of business life. Howard was a P E teacher and still cycles and plays tennis and golf regularly. Skiing is his winter passion. Marian is an ex IT trainer and now loves being able to spend time in the garden and play golf.
