Located in the Tarn region of France, close to Castres within the Parc Regional du Haut Languedoc. La Payrastrie is a 17th century 'manoir' divided into private properties. Formed on 3 sides of a square courtyard with entrance gates and 2 turreted towers to the 4th side. The large courtyard provides a great place to play boules and is fantastic for sitting out and having breakfast in. Our house is located on the right-hand side of the courtyard, nearest the swimming pool. (The pool is only accessed by a gate for the safety of young children and is well looked after daily). The property has a wonderful terrace with a lovely view and in the evenings there are often beautiful sunsets. There are six golf courses all within an hour's drive of La Payrastrie. There are also numerous beautiful towns to visit nearby including the medieval city of Albi and the hilltop town of Lautrec. There are 3 lakes nearby including Lac du Laouzas which has sailing, pedalos and a beach.

Changeover day is Saturday. Departures by 10am. Arrivals after 4pm.

| Other: | On first floor landing the bookcase has plenty of books to read / DVDs for all ages). Also large storage cupboard with sports equipment - including tennis and badminton rackets along with two full sets of golf clubs. |

Linen and towels are provided - bring own pool towels. Property to be left in a clean state. General cleaning is carried out between changeovers. |

Notes on accommodation
TV with DVD player (& DVDs) - for, Xbox (original) + games suitable for 7-12 year olds. (note: TV only for use with Xbox or DVD's) Bose CD player/radio in living room with cable for MP3 player. Numerous board games, cards, backgammon and chess in chest in living room.

There is a steep staircase from the first floor to the second floor.
Outside
Large private terrace leading to shared grassed garden area (tables, chairs & sun loungers and hammock).
Swimming Pool (shared use). Cleaned and looked after daily by the property managers (english couple who live opposite in the courtyard)
Fantastic scenic views.
Front courtyard - table & chairs for sunny breakfast use.
Coast/Beach
The coastal resorts of Bezier and Narbonne are approximately 2 and half hours drive away.
Golf
There are six golf courses all within an hour's drive of La Payrastrie including la Barouge in Mazamet which is ranked in the top 30 in France. It has a driving range and a superb restaurant. Non-members are welcome to go and play all year round.

Travel
La Payrastrie is located just over an hour and 30 mins away from both Toulouse and Carcassonne airports. Rodez airport (slightly further away) is another option during certain months of the year. By car from the port at Calais the journey takes about 12 hours including minor stops (Approx. 10 hours of driving).
Distances
Castres (20km/20mins. by car) attractive town set on the River Agout. ALBI (35km/40mins. by car) is a medieval city with the impressive gothic Cathedrale ste. Cecile. Realmont (20km/25mins. by car) is a smaller local town that has a fantastic market on Wednesday and Saturday mornings. Lautrec 14th century fortified village specialized in the raising of pink garlic. The medieval walled city of Carcassonne is 1 hour 30 mins drive.
Further details
The nearby village of Montredon Labessonnie has a bank. There are large supermarkets nearby within 15 minutes drive. The noticeboard in the house has recommendations for local restaurants. See website for further information (please ask for details).

Note - Booking dates Saturday to Saturday in August - but please ask as some flexibility at other times of the year. 50% deposit is required on booking (non refundable). 50% due 4 weeks before commencement of booking date.
