Marseillan also has excellent sports facilities for sailing, windsurfing, horse riding and with many French villages nearby, it is the perfect place to set out walking or cycling.

Like most very old villages houses, the house has a narrow winding staircase that may not be suitable for people with limited mobility.

Marseillan is easily accessible by both Air (Ryanair, BA, Flybe, BmiBaby etc) and TGV rail from UK. It is 40 mins drive from Montpellier, 75 mins from Nimes and Carcassonne, 90 mins from Perpignan and approx. 2 hours from Marseilles, Toulouse or Gerona in Spain.

About the owners: We live in Vancouver, Canada and are dual Canadian/British citizens. We retired at the end of 2010 and came to spend one year in a French village. We loved it so much we bought a house in Marseillan Ville.

Why the owners chose a property in Marseillan:
Marseillan Ville is one of the prettiest villages in southern France. It is on the edge of the Etang de Thau, close to the Mediterranean beaches at Marseillan Plage and is located at the eastern terminus of the Midi Canal. Our house is a two minute walk from the centre of the village with its thriving market and a five minute walk to the port and the walking/cycling path along the Etang. Marseillan has many excellent restaurants, shops and recreation facilities.
