Luxuriously renovated. Built in 1669 this historic town house is a three storey property, with a lounge on the 2nd floor, leading to a private terrace, plus one twin bedroom. On the 1st floor, 2 double bedrooms plus 1 shower room with WC. Ground floor large fitted kitchen diner, plus 2nd shower room and separate WC each having wash hand basins. Many original features including:- exposed beams. Original Stone Arch Door way leading into one of the bedrooms, which also has natural stone walls. Peaceful location. The house has everything you could want for a very relaxing luxurious holiday, in the wonderful village of Pomerols. Pomerols is famous for its wines, which can be tasted and purchased just 5 mins walk from the house. In June, July and August there are village fetes which you are welcome to attend. We live in the village and are there if you need us. The property & village do have the Wow factor.

Notes on prices
We have received a letter from the "Office de Tourisme de Pezenas - Val d'Herault". This letter informs us that we now have to collect a "Tourist Tax" from all our clients who stay at our property from 1st May 2012 until 30th September 2012.
The tax applies to everyone over the age of 16 the rate is €0.69 per day per person.
We do not like being Tax collectors, but that is the law. Upon arrival I will ask you to pay the relevant amount, to which I will give you a receipt.
Changeover day
We shall send you detailed instructions to find the house before hand, so we can organise your arrival arrangements and key collection. Additional cleaning service available for a small charge.

Notes on accommodation
Children are welcome, please note there are stairs, but child safety gates are provided if required. Internet access (ASDL – Broadband) is available at house, but you have to bring your own lap top. (Terms and conditions apply. Please ask for details). For long term winter lets we charge £150 per week November until Easter and £160 per week after Easter until the Mid May. A "Caution" payment of £250 is charged for long term rentals, to cover any breakages etc, but is refundable is the house is left in a clean and tidy condition etc as found upon arrival.
Accessibility
This property is not suitable for wheelchair users, due to the stairs.
Outside
On the terrace there is outdoor furniture, for you to relax and sip a glass or two in the beautiful Mediterranean climate. Also in the evening the local people sit out side their houses in the street, chatting away to each other and saying Bon Soir as people pass by. The atmosphere is something you have to experience for yourself, its so very French. We have lived in Pomerols for over 10 years now, and we are still impressed, by the friendliness of the villagers. The local shops have everything you need, and just to go and purchase your baguette or croissants, you get the feal of real French life. New to the Village November 2011 its very own "Super U" supermarket, with cash machine and petrol station.
Coast/Beach
The Beaches are just a 10 mins drive, though the vine yards and passing the various ports on the Etang. Just a car journey away is the beautiful ancient walled city of Carcasonne, or visit another National Site - Saint Guilhem le Desert, this is a fatastic village built in the valley of 2 mountains. There are caves to explore, rivers for fishing, kayaking. Gardens where you can take a gentle stroll, museum's regarding the local history. This area has something for all ages.
Golf
There are 2 golf course just 15 mins away, one being on the outskirt of Beziers and one a Cap'd Agde. Both have a good reputation
Skiing
Skiing is available winter months in the Pyrenees only 1.5 hours drive.
Special interest holidays
Pomerols is situated just 10 mins drive from the beautiful clean sandy beaches of the warm Mediterranean Sea. The town of Pezanas is 15 mins north where you can search for wonderful antiques, and shop in the little local craft shops and amaze at the Architecture. The ancient town of Agde is 8 mins drive eastwards nestling on the river Herault & Canal Du Midi, plus you have Cap D'Agde famous for its sailing, diving and beaches. Eastwards 20 mins is the ferry port of Sete.
Travel
Nearest train station is Agde, where you can get the TGV. Paris in only 3.5 hours away on this famous fast train the TGV. Beziers Cap Adge Airport is 15 mins drive. Montpellier Airport is a 40 mins drive. Ryanair fly in daily thoughout the year. Car Hire available. Sete is 20 mins eastwards and is the ferry port for North Africa.
Daily Boat trips can be taken at both Sete and Agde.

Montpellier 40km. Beaches 9km. Sete 15km. Agde 10km. Bessan 9km. (Junction 34 of the N9 Autoroute). Pezanas 20km (Famous for it Antique Shops). Cap D'Agde 12km (for all sea and sand activites).
Further details
A 30% reservation is reqested to reserve your booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. A refundable "Caution Payment" of £200 is required with the balance to cover any possible breakages or damage and to ensure that the house is left in a clean and tidy condition. Bookings for longer than 2 weeks ask for special rates (see above). Don't forget your holiday insurance.
Booking notes
July and August change over days are Saturdays. However, we are flexible regarding start days other times of the year to suit your travel requirements, as flights are often less expensive midweek, your stay can be as long or short as you wish. You are welcome to take over the house between 1600 and 1900 and we ask you to vacate by 10am on your final morning.

About the owner
We moved to Pomerols from Bournemouth England in 2001, we knew nobody, we did not speak French, we did not know the region. Now, Pomerols is our home, we know so many wonder people from all parts of the world. Our French friends have been wonderful and embarrassed us, with open hearts and arms. We speak enough french now, to be able to spend quality time with our 'Special French Friend', which we call our french family, to really get the most out of our new life in France. We have discovered so many wonderful places to visit. Life here is just what we thought it would be.
Year purchased: 2003
Why the owner chose a home in this location
We needed income, as work here is hard to find for both the French and all other nationalities. So we purchased No. 13, (unlucky for some) not for us. We renovated it to a high standard, which we still maintain till this day. The house revealed such wonderful original features during the renovation, including a 17th century arch door way, which was hidden behind the old plaster. Wow.....

The benefits of this house, it has the charm and atmosphere of the old with the new, with al the modern day essentials. The neighbours make all our guests very welcome. It is situated in the heart of the ancient village with all the local shops just seconds away.
