This attractive village, rehabilitated by local artisans, has retained most of the original features of the houses, which gives Kerfec a typical Breton feel. Each have been renovated using natural materials, such as hemp, lime and different types of wood to keep it as natural as possible. All have most of their original features still apparent, such as the lovely granite stone, the large oak beams and even the smaller window openings. Each have a private terrace, with a BBQ and a garden table and chairs, and a view on the 8000m2 garden, which is a great place to play ball games, or just let the little ones explore. We also have 3 nanny goats and chickens, who are extremely friendly and love company!

| La Zélée is one of our newest additions to Kerfec. It's really a great cottage for 2 adults and a small child or baby, however can accommodate an extra couple in one of our separate bedrooms (private facilities. Enquire with us for more info.). Built and renovated from scratch, it boats a lovely open space kitchen/dining/lounge area, which opens onto a private terrace, which is south facing. The kitchen is fully equipped, with 4-ring hob, fridge, oven, pots & pans, crockery, toaster, kettle, coffee maker, microwave... Making your way upstairs, there's a large double bedroom, with an antique bed, some storage space and a light wooden wardrobe. The room leads to a spacious bathroom, with shower, hand-basin, WC and washing machine. | |

L'Astrolabe (Sleeps 4-8)

L'Astrolabe is one of our larger gites.Great for a family of 4, however can accommodate 2 extra couples in separate bedrooms(private facilities ea.). In the lounge area, there's a TV/DVD player, linked up to UK satellite TV. There's also a large sofa&a double sofa bed.The open fireplace is also a special feature of this family gite.The large kitchen area, with a brand new kitchen, is fully equipped, with a dishwasher, a 4-ring hob, an oven, a large fridge/freezer, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle, a coffee maker, crockery and pots & pans. From the main window you have views on the large garden, as well as the pool. The large table and chairs are central to the kitchen area. Upstairs, there's an open plan mezzanine, with 2 single beds. The master bedroom is very spacious. It has a double bed, bedside tables, and another single settee. The en-suite has a large bath, with shower head, hand-basin, with shelving beneath, wc and washing machine. An extra shower-room's downstairs. |

Notes on accommodation
Guests with teens or grandparents, who prefer an extra bedroom, or 2, please email us for prices/info, as we can accomodate you in our 2 separate bedrooms, with private facilities each. For your arrival, all beds are made. We understand that after a long and tiresome journey, the last thing you want to do is find the energy to make the beds. Therefore, they will be made and ready to be slept in when you arrive. All your linen, bath towels, bath mats and beach towels are provided for your stay. If you staying for 2 weeks, we will happily provide you with a fresh pair of sheets and towels. We will prepare a welcome hamper, with many delicious local delicacies. Such as a bottle of cider, a bottle of wine, a carton of semi-skimmed milk, English Breakfast and/or Earl grey teabags, coffee sachets, and other goodies. Essentials: tea towels, washing up liquid and dishcloths, dishwasher tablets, kitchen towel, soap, toilet paper rolls, mop/bucket, broom, dustpan & brush, and trash bags.
Outside
All gites have a private terrace, with a BBQ, garden table and chairs. Access to the shared pool is easy and from La Boussole and L'Astrolabe, you have direct access from your terrace. Around the pool there are loungers, if you prefer to watch the children and not go into the pool! Beach towels are provided, so no need to take your own.
The chickens and goats are also in the back part of the garden and always love the company of children! They are easily accessible from your terrace.
Coast/Beach
There is an array of white, sandy beaches, which are all within easy driving distance. Port Louis is only 30 mins away and is great for the children. The most popular ones are Carnac, La Trinite Sur Mer, Larmor Plage, and St Pierre-Quiberon. The quieter beaches, where there is more space and where you can be closer to nature range between Gavres to Penthièvre. Apart from the crowded and busy beaches, we are lucky as the beaches in Brittany are never dirty or soiled, even in the height of summer.

Travel
The roads in Brittany are well-maintained and roads similar to motorways are free. Kerfec is only a short drive off the main axe (Rennes-Lorient), Nationale 24. Lorient has an airport (if you're coming from Cork, Kerry or Waterford) and a railway station only 30 mins away. There are many air routes coming into Rennes (1h15 away), Nantes (1h45 away) or Brest (2h away). The nearest ferry port is Caen, if you're coming from Portsmouth.
Distances
Kerfec is situated at 3.5kms from Quistinic, the local village, which has a chemist, a doctor, a bar, and a general store for your immediate needs, whilst Baud or Hennebont, which has all amenities, are only a 10 minute drive. The Medieval town of Pontivy and the sandy beaches of the coast are only a short 30 to 40 minute drive, north and south respectively.

Early birds: If booked before Dec, a 10% discount applies to your holiday!
We ask you pay 25% to secure your booking with us. FULL payment is to be sent TWO months prior to your arrival. A separate security cheque of €100 or £100 is to be also sent, along with your final payment,in case of any damages or breakages, an appropriate fee for the repairs or replacement, shall be deducted, and a cheque shall be sent back to you, at your designated address, 1 wk after your departure.
