Les Fontaines' cottage is ideally situated on the Lot/Aveyron borders, only 10 minutes walk from our local village of Martiel and 10 minutes drive from the stunning medieval town of Villefrance de Rouergue. In a tranquil location on the edge of a peaceful hamlet, Les Fontaines is the perfect place to relax and unwind. The luxurious accommodation is set amongst two acres of woodland and superb countryside. The 12 x 6m swimming pool with Roman steps and deep end for diving, is an absolute must after a hard day's sightseeing or househunting. There are many fine restaurants in the area, buzzing local markets and festivals. Brocantes (Antique Fairs) take place regularly throughout the summer months, as do jazz, rock and pop concerts. Changeover day
Changeover day in the cottage is Saturday. To ensure a smooth changeover, please arrange to arrive no earlier than 4.00 p.m. and leave no later than 10.00 a.m.
Notes on accommodation
Please note that for the comfort of all our guests, Les Fontaines is strictly a no smoking zone. We welcome well behaved children. Unfortunately we are unable to accept pets, sorry.
Guests staying at Les Fontaines have free access to WIFI.
Accessibility
The standard double B & B room is situated at ground floor level and is therefore suitable for those with mobility problems, although not adapted for wheelchair users.
Outside
In addition to the 12 x 6m pool, guests have use of the landscaped gardens, patio furniture and parasols. There are swings in one of the fields for the children.
Coast/Beach
The nearest coastal beach is 2 hours 45 mins. drive away, on the Mediteranean coast. There is, however, a sandy beach next to the river at St. Cirq Lapopie which is approx. 25 mins. drive.
Golf
There is a 9 hole practice course just 10 minutes drive away plus a superb 18 hole course at Rodez, approx. 45 minutes drive.
Skiing
The nearest ski slopes are approx. 1.5 hours drive away.
Special interest holidays
We provide adult mountain bikes free of charge. These do, however, need to be booked in advance.
Travel
The nearest airports are Rodez (40 mins. drive), Toulouse (1.5 hours drive). Carcassonne, Limoges and Bergerac are all approx. 2.25 - 2.5 hours drive away. Use of a car when staying at Les Fontaines is essential.
Distances
Our local village is approx. 10 mins. walk & our nearest town, Villefranche de Rouergue, is approx. 10 minutes drive away. There are many stunning medieval towns and places of outstanding beauty within very easy reach i.e. St. Cirq Lapopie, Najac, Belcastel, St. Antonin Noble Val, Figeac, the Lot and the Aveyron Gorges, to name just a few! For full days out, Carcassonne, Sarlat, Rocamadour, the Millau viaduct (world's tallest bridge) are all popular places to visit when based at Les Fontaines.
Further details
Our local village of Martiel is approx. 10 minutes walk away. There you will find all the usual amenities, corner shop, boulangerie, post office, hairdressers, church, tennis courts. There is also a bar/restaurant. For a really wide choice of bars, restaurants, supermarkets and banks, the stunning medieval bastide town of Villefranche de Rouergue is just 10 minutes drive away. Every Thursday morning there is a bustling market in the centre of the town - not to be missed! The Sunday morning market in the stunning town of St. Antonin Noble Val is also an absolute must do!

Please confirm your booking by e-mail. We will then forward you a copy of our booking form plus terms and conditions. Please note we do require a bond deposit on arrival of 200 Euros for self catering guests. This is returned in full, providing there have been no accidents, damages or breakages.
