'Les Bets' has all of the facilities that will make you feel comfortable and at home - no matter what time of the year you stay. It is light, roomy and well appointed throughout
Outside, there is a walled garden with a pool for your own personal use.
The house is based on a quiet street in St Michel en l'Herm, a village which has a restauarant, bar, small supermarket, bakers and other shops all within five minutes walking distance of Les Bets.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Outside of the traditional holiday periods, it may be possible to rent the property for long weekends.
A deposit of 15% of total rental will be payable in order to reserve the property. A security deposit of £100 will also be required but this will be refunded at the end of the holiday providing there have been no breakages or damage to the property.
Changeover day
Changeover day is Saturday.

Outside
There is a walled garden which is a wonderful sun trap where you can enjoy a barbecue (one is provided) or relax with a drink on the patio. Alternatively, you can be more energetic and have a swim in the 8m. by 4m. pool which has an electrically operated cover fitted for safety reasons. The pool is not heated.
Coast/Beach
The Vendee Atlantic coast is a very popular holiday destination and, with a near Mediterranean climate providing an average 200 days and 2,500 hours of sunshine every year, it is hardly surprising.
The local beaches offer great variety. From gently-sloping beaches which providing pleasure and safety for the whole family through to good quality surfing beaches.
Travel
To get to Les Bets, you can use the Dover to Calais ferries or the Channel Tunnel. From Calais it is a 420 mile drive to St Michel. Alternatively, if you want a shorter drive but spend more time on the crossing, you can take the ferries to Cherbourg, Caen or St Malo.
The nearest airport is La Rochelle airport which is a 30 minute drive away from St Michel en l'Herm. Ryanair, EasyJet, Jet2 and Flybe offer services to this airport.

Within an hour's drive of Les Bets you will find:
Marais Poitevin National Park: known as 'Venise Verte' ('Green Venice'), it is France's largest collection of man-made waterways, covered with waterlilies and irises. Rather than gondolas, the transport of choice here is the 'platte', a flat-bottomed boat. You can hire them, motor boats or canoes to explore the network of canals and parklands.
Puy du Fou: An amazing theme park, based on history and featuring many spectacular shows must not be missed. In the Grand Parc you'll see falconry displays, a water theatre and faithfully recreated Renaissance gardens and 18th century village life. A 6,000-seat Roman amphitheatre resounds to the thrills of the Roman games - real, live chariot races, gladiator fights and wild animal displays are just the beginning.
La Rochelle: This historic port is a must for any visitor to the region. Its sea food restaurants are famous throughout Europe and its range of fashionable boutiques, sheltering under the famous arcades, are some of the finest outside Paris. Time should be found to visit the aquarium, the market and the famous towers which surround the old port.
Ile de Ré: This wonderful island is a short distance from La Rochelle, linked to the mainland by a stunning curved bridge (a toll is charged). It offers miles of sandy beaches, pinewoods and the old world charm of St Martin.
Les Sables d'Olonne: With a long beach, bustling seafront and chic shops, it has also become famous in yachting circles for the bi-annual Vendee Globe round the world sailing race.
La Palmyre Zoo: At Royan, which is south of La Rochelle, this zoo is a very popular attraction.
Booking notes
An initial deposit of 15% of total rental due is required to secure the booking. The balance of the rental will be payable not less than six weeks before the start of the rental period. The rental price includes electricity, water, linen and maid service.
You will be required to pay a security deposit of £100 at the time when the balance of the rental is paid. It will be refunded following the rental period providing there is no damage to the property or its contents.
