Maison Touyarot is a fine 19th century stone barn conversion, with spacious accommodation for up to 8 guests and a baby in four bedrooms on two floors. The house, set in 1/3 acre of private grounds, is within a walk of two delightful hilltop villages and enjoys panoramic views towards to the snow-capped peaks of the Pyrénées. Inside, the rooms are well proportioned, bright and airy, and have been tastefully and comfortably furnished throughout. The golden sandy beaches of the Pyrenees Atlantique are just over an hour away and include the famous surfing beaches around Biarritz - drive south for 45 minutes and you are in the Pyrenees. There is an 18 hole golf course, very welcoming towards visitors, within 20 minutes drive.
Activities such as swimming (open air infinity pool), white water rafting, riding, cycling, walking and fishing are all available locally. The nearest ski resort is an hour away in Gourette, complete with mountain restaurants, 27 ski runs and a snow park.

Bathrooms: There are two bathrooms one with a bath, shower and WC and the other with a shower and WC.
Kitchen: The large open plan kitchen is equipped with an oven, four gas hob burners, a microwave, and a dishwasher.

Utility Room: Washing machine.
Living Rooms: The living room has comfortable sofas, a CD player and a television with a DVD player with a selection of DVD’s for all ages.

Coast/Beach

Golf
A full 18 hole golf course is available within 20 minutes drive near Pau and a smaller 10 hole course in Salie de Bearn 40 drive away.

Skiing
The nearest ski resort is just over a hour away in Gourette, complete with mountain restaurants, ski hire outlets with facilities leave equipment overnight and two ski schools. The resort has 27 ski runs and a snow park.

Special interest holidays
Wine discovery courses are avaiable from a British Master of Wine, resident at the Chateau in a neighbouring village.

Painting courses available in the beautiful village of Morlanne (4 km)in September.

In addition we are within 2km of the Voie du Pouy route of the St Jaques de Compostella Pilgrims walk at Larreule near Arzacq.

Distances
Garos is a small hill-top village, just a few minutes walk down the lane. The nearest town Arzacq is a bustling little market town ten minutes’ drive away. It has markets every Saturday, and has a good variety of shops, including a bakery, a supermarket, a lovely outdoor swimming pool, tennis club, banks and cafés.

Further details
The village tennis court is a 5 minute walk from the house and available free of charge. There is a lake within 20 minutes drive at Orthez, with a fine sandy beach and supervised swimming over the summer months. There are many excellent restaurants nearby, including Ferme Auberge situated a stones throw from the 15th century Chateau in the delightful village of Morlanne where the delicious food served is all produced on their own farm. L’Auberge in Arqacq is also worth a visit and serves fine food in warm and welcoming surroundings. The nearby town of Pau has numerous restaurants, bars and cafés.
