Our apartment is in a chalet style building - the closest one to the main lift. It is ideally located for both winter and summer holidays and provides a cosy base: 20 sq m, perfect for a couple or a young family (there is a separate bedroom with bunks). A spacious balcony runs the full length of the apartment. Local facilities - mini-supermarket, ski shops, bars and restaurants - are only minutes away.

Skiing
Les Contamines is a family friendly ski resort with 150kms of downhill pistes to suit all abilities. The apartment is directly opposite the main lift. There are 24 lifts in total, a snow park and half pipe for boarders and five circuits of cross country trails. The resort's snow record is much envied; the season lasts from December to April. Other winter sports include snow mobiles, dog sledding and ice-skating (there is a natural skating rink in the village).

Les Contamines has two supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, ATM and bank, a good selection of restaurants and bars, one disco, a weekly market, ski rental shops.

In summer the opportunities are endless. Les Contamines is situated at the edge of a vast nature reserve, threaded with well-signed paths where one can wander amongst the natural beauty of the forests and the true Alp. Walking is made even more pleasant by the presence of a number of remote mountain restaurants, where one can refresh oneself after a long day.

There is also an excellent sports park which offers archery, baskeball and volley ball, crazy golf, fishing, football, a golf driving-range, pedaloes on the lake, tennis, a children's play area and a tree top ropeway.
Les Contamines also is a centre for mountain biking, alpine climbing, parascending, pony trekking, rock climbing and trout fishing.
