Within easy reach of the Marais Poitevin, the Venice Vert, the Mervent-Vouvant forest and just 40 minutes from La Rochelle and the west coast. Historic churches and abbeys are scattered across the region. Excellent access by air from La Rochelle, Nantes and Poitiers airports, or by car from all channel ports.Whatever you prefer to do on holiday; sightseeing, walking, cycling, horse riding, fishing, bird watching or golf, you can enjoy all these activities within a short distance of La Fleur de Lys. Or you can simply relax in the sun by the heated pool, eat 'al fresco' in the shade of the summer kitchen, or play table tennis, darts, or table football in the games room, or enjoy a game of croquet or boules on the lawns. Outside
In front of the house is a small lawn with covered table and chairs. The gravel drive is large enough to park 3 cars. The swimming pool is 4X8 mtrs and is solar heated and for the exclusive use of guests.Sun loungers and chairs surround the pool. Just across from the pool is a summer kitchen with large dining table and chairs, and also has comfortable chairs and settee under a roll-out canopy.Behind the summer kitchen is the games room equipped with table tennis, darts, table football and a multi-gym. Behind the swimming pool is a large lawn suitable for outdoor games. Boules, croquet and badminton games are provided. There are also 4 adult bikes for guests use.
Coast/Beach
La Rochelle is just 45 minutes drive. Ile de Re is a beautiful island just north of La Rochelle. Long sandy beaches can be found at La Tranche Sur Mer, and Le Sable D'Olonne.
Alternatively, just 5 minutes from La Fleur de Lys is a lakeside beach open in Summer.
Golf
There are several golf courses in the area. The nearest at Niort just 30 minutes drive is a fairly flat course and shares the course with the horse racing course. La Petit Chene is also just 30 minutes drive and is a parkland course, quite hilly and with lakes. La Rochelle is a links course and just 40 minutes drive.

La Rochelle airport: 45 minutes by car.
Nantes airport : 1 hour by car.
Poitiers airport: 1 hour by car.
St. Malo port: 3 hours by car.
Caen port: 4 hours by car
Le Havre port : 5 hours by car.
Calais port: 6 hours by car
Distances
Charzais is just 3 minutes by car to Fontenay Le Comte.
The abbeys of Neuil Sur L'Autize and Maillezais are 10 minutes drive. The Mervent forest is 10 minutes drive.
Further details
Fontenay Le Comte is a very pleasant market town and has a choice of 5 supermarkets, banks, restaurants and cafe bars as well as some good clothing shops. A market is held every Saturday.
Booking notes
La Fleur De Lys is open 12 months of the year.
On confirmation of reservation we require a 20% deposit and the final balance, including security bond, to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival.
