Le Cerisier is in the village of Saint Geniès de Fontédit in the Herault region of Languedoc. The village is only 10 miles north of Béziers with easy access to Narbonne, Montpellier, Carcassonne, and Perpignan along the A9. The beautiful valley of the River Orb is 5 miles to the west where you can swim, walk, fish or canoe, and visit picturesque villages such as Roquebrun and Vieussan. The Mediterranean is less than 30 minutes away where there are numerous excellent beaches and resorts. There are lagoons, miles of unspoiled beaches, water sports and sea fishing all within a short drive. The Canal du Midi, which connects the Atlantic and Mediterranean, runs through Bézier. It can be easily reached at many points between Carcassonne and Sete where it reaches the Med. Cycling, walking and boat hire can all be made part of your stay. A breathtaking 20 mile drive to the north and you are into the beautiful and unspoiled Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Languedoc.

Notes on accommodation
The property has electric heaters in all rooms for those winter evenings and fans are available in the summer. The accommodation is suitable for children, as the roof terrace has a high wall all around it. Le Cerisier has 2 off road bikes (1 male and 1 female) for guest use.

Accessibility
The apartment is on the top floor of the house and so this property would not be suitable for people with mobility problems.

Outside
The roof terrace with beautiful views of the mountains is the perfect place to relax in the sun or shade. There is a table with six chairs for dining outside in the summer months and 2 sunbeds for relaxing.

Coast/Beach
The Mediterranean is less than 30 minutes away where there are numerous excellent beaches and resorts. There are lagoons, miles of unspoiled beaches, water sports and sea fishing all within a short drive.

Golf
The nearest golf courses are Lamalou le Bains, Beziers and Cap D'Agde, all within an hours drive from Le Cerisier.

Le Cerisier offers a complete package for Art groups looking for a relaxed holiday, painting at some of the most beautiful locations Languedoc has to offer. Accommodation in Le Cerisier includes breakfast, picnic lunches and four course evening meal. Transport to and from locations is also provided.
This is not an art course, but an opportunity to share skills and techniques with fellow artists, including Damian, the owner, who is an experienced and enthusiastic artist.

Hiring a car is recommended in order to access all the area has to offer. Car hire is easily arranged at any of the local airports or cities.

Distances
A breathtaking 20 mile drive to the north and you are into the beautiful and unspoiled Parc Naturel Régional du Haut-Languedoc and the foothills, lakes and forests of the Black Mountains. The villages here are incredibly pretty. St. Guilhem le Desert is one of Languedoc's top tourist spots with its charmingly restored cobbled streets and ancient abbey. The areas offers thousands of marked walks plenty of rock-climbing sites listed in guides available from le Cerisier.

Further details
There is a lovely patisserie in the village, along with a small grocery store, Tabac, hairdressers and local cafe. A 5 minute drive takes you to the next villages where there are cash points, supermarkets and restaurants.
The beautiful River Orb is 10 minutes away where you can swim, fish, and canoe.
