La Carrere is a Gascon Farmhouse, tastefully restored for comfort whilst retaining all the character of the local area. The property is set in 2 1/4 acres of private gardens with swimming pool. Set in small village in a valley facing the Pyrenees, the village has a small 'country' restaurant. There is good access to the autoroute, and also to the beautiful local market towns and Pyreneean spa towns.

Changeover day
During the high season, all change overs are Saturday to Saturday. However at all other times of the year, the owners are prepared to negotiate alternative days.

4 bedrooms, upstairs, all with double beds. Single folding beds in addition are available for each room. There is an upstairs shower room and also a large family bathroom with bath and shower (en-suite to the main bedroom). Downstairs is large comfortable living room with TV. Separate dining room, small study with local area info. Fully equipped kitchen and laundry room comprising all modern conveniences such as dishwasher and microwave. Outside there is a large terrace for outdoor dining, equipped with seating and barbecue. The pool garden is available and includes garden furniture. |

Notes on accommodation
The property is excellent for summer lets, but also provides an excellent base for ski-ing in winter, as access to the mountain ski resorts is less than 1 hour.
Also, the mountain towns across the border in Spain, are accessible within the hour - and the beautiful Atlantic coast beaches are within 2 hours drive.
The property is not suitable for wheelchair access.
Outside
The full size swimming pool is located in the rear garden and has a patio area which is surrounded by a fenced garden.
Within the pool area there are ample sunbeds and also a tabel and chairs for outside dining.
There is a garden area outside the french doors, for al fresco dinners and a barbecue is also in situ.
Coast/Beach
The Atlantic coast is about a 2 hours drive and is worth the drive for a day trip. The mediterranean coast is just a slightly longer drive.
There are various resorts whether you are looking for quite sandy beaches or more well populated, equipped and lively resorts such Biarritz.
Golf
There are numerous golf courses in the local area the nearest being that of Lannemezan - however the owners are happy to assist clients with planning the best itinerary for them.
Skiing
Numerous skiing resorts are available within 1 hour.
Closest resorts are St Lary, La Mongie, Bagnere de Bigorre and Peyregaude.
Travel
Pau is the nearest airport at approximately 1 hour away.
Flights to Pau are operated by Ryan air from Stansted airport.
However, Toulouse is just 1.5 hours drive and offers flights by BA and Easyjet. In addition, there are direct flights from all over the UK to Toulouse, such as Bristol, Southampton, Edinburgh and Birmingham, with BMI, Flybe, EU jet etc.There are also dircet flights from Ireland.
The drive from Caen ferry port takes approximatly 8/9 hours.
Distances
The accommodation is located within the village of Montastruc, and the nearest market towns are Trie-sur-baise and Lannemzan at 14km away.
Further details
There are many shops and supermarkets for your daily needs within easy driving access. There is also good access to religious sites such as Lourdes.
Walking and hiking routes are available.
Booking notes
Deposit of 30% is required to secure the bookings and the balance is due 10 weeks before the commencement of the holiday. A refundable deposit against damages is also required at the time of balance payments.
