Paradise is a beautiful 5 bedroom stone farmhouse set in a lovely location with far reaching views and has a fantastic heated swimming pool available from May to September. This region is extremely picturesque and has an abundance of rivers and hills, perfect French villages to explore and wonderful local restaurants offering the best limousin cuisine. For those wanting to relax and enjoy long days in the sun and lounging by the pool you cannot find anywhere better to unwind. If you want a more active holiday the area has lots of outdoor activities including water sports at Lake St Pardoux and lots of fishing and walking on your doorstep. It is no surprise to those of us who live here that this is where the French come for their summer holidays as this region offers everything anyone could want for a perfect holiday.

Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. So as not to price out one family bookings prices are based on up to 6 people - extra people charged at £50 per week up to a maximum of 10.

Saturday during June - July - August. Alternative start dates can be considered during other periods depending on availability.

Kitchen: Fully equipped with double ceramic sink. Electric oven and gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge/freezer (extra drinks fridge in utility area). As this is also our home there is everything you would expect to find in a fully equipped kitchen.
Utility Room: Washing machine, ironing board, drying/airing rack. Also off here is the boiler room which we use as a Gym. Great for those feeling they want to work off all that wine, cheese and fantastic pastries before they get back home!
Living Rooms: Beamed lounge with large flat screen TV and varied collection of videos and DVD's. Sky box (bring your own card or use our basic package), CD player, log burning fire for cozy winter evenings. Dining Area with large oak table and 8 dining chairs.
Other: Separate sitting area for either kids to play games or older visitors to have some quiet space as the ground floor twin bedroom is in this part of the house. Large games room with table tennis, pool table, bar football library and chill out zone!
Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Everything is provided to make your stay in paradise as enjoyable as possible. You will arrive to crisp feather duvets on the beds and plenty of cotton towels for both showering and swimming pool use. Cleaning is done at the end of each stay.

 

Notes on accommodation
Outside of the main summer months this is our home and therefore you will find everything you would expect and hope for in your own home. Up to now only family and friends have stayed but as we now work away so much we have decided to let discerning and careful guests enjoy our little bit of Paradise. We therefore ask you to respect it as a home and not just a business rental property.

The village neighbours are extremely welcoming and friendly and very often you will find home grown garden produce left by the door! We have had a number of families in the past with every age of children however please note the obvious dangers of both the swimming pool and garden pond by ensuring young children are never left unsupervised.
We have just purchased a brand new cot and high chair for those with very young children so please request these if you wish them to be available for your stay.

Accessibility
We are in the process of changing the downstairs washroom into a shower room which will then mean that people with reduced mobility have access to every facility. The pretty downstairs twin bedroom is ideal for any guests preferring not to have to use the stairs too often but currently the only bathing / showering facilities are on the upper floor.

Outside
Large gardens with ornamental pool and covered loggia (sheltered patio area) just off the dining area perfect for al-fresco dining. Beyond the immediate garden area is the old orchard which now has the spectacular heated swimming pool with built in steps and sitting areas around the side for lolling around without getting in the way of anyone wanting to swim!

Alongside this is the brand new pool house and terrace making this area completely self contained from the house and providing everything you need for a 'day by the seaside'. 20 meters from the pool is the boule/petanque court (boules provided) and a further adjacent field perfect for either energetic ball games or quiet contemplation whilst sipping a glass of something nice and looking over the valley and hills beyond. Top quality pool loungers and two all weather sofas complete the 5* feel of this superb recent addition to the house.

Coast/Beach
Swimming Lakes at Bessines and Lake St Pardoux - both 15 mins by car. The coast at La Rochelle is about 3 hours away but why bother? You have everything you need on your doorstep!
Water skiing available at Lake St Pardoux.

Golf
Municipal courses at Limoges (40 mins) and La Souterraine (25 mins).

Travel
Limoges airport is 35 mins away to the south and has daily flights with Ryanair from Stanstead, Liverpool, East Midlands and Newcastle. Flybe flies from Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Jersey, Guernsey, Manchester, Newcastle and Southampton! Car hire is easily available at the airport. Travelling by car is very easy as we are only 15 minutes from the main A20 motorway. It is about 5 - 6 hours drive from Calais or 4 and a half from Caen or Le Harve.

Distances
Shop/restaurant in next village 2km. Chateauponsac with supermarket, restaurants, all main amenities including doctors 4km / 5 mins by car. The larger town of Bellac has more shops and bigger supermarkets 16km / 15 mins. Lake St Pardoux 12km. Limoges airport 41km / 35 mins).

Further details
Fishing in the many nearby rivers and lakes is very popular and the local shops and supermarkets sell daily permits and tackle if required.
